	2:10am ikє: @Jake, you let THAT turn you off of serialized TV? TV has gotten so much better. Episodic procedurals are so boring and low-stakes. Serials do offer greater risk, but sometimes greater reward.

Yes, TV shows how show depth only once relegated to movies. But I can’t stand that pretense. The core plot of “Breaking Bad” could have been one 2 hour movie, but was dragged out endlessly. You’re watching well-filmed soap operas. Nothing more or less.
	2:18am ℰ Ī Ҡ: Oh come on, Breaking Bad would not have had its depth or breadth as a two-hour movie. As for soap operas, I don't remember anybody in The Wire or Breaking Bad marrying their rehabilitated rapists or anybody's evil twin showing up after they're killed off. Serials are not inherently beneath you just for being serials.

	2:52am JakeGould: @Ike: The art of movie making is distilling characters and stories into a small nugget. I contend that modern soap-opera-like serials simply repeat the same point ad-infinitum but present it in a way that makes you feel what you are experiencing is deeper than what it is. Meaning I don't think many fictional characters are that deep. You see Henry Hill in "Goodfellas" and there is not much else to that guy. A perfect example of how the pretense of serials fails is that "Bates Motel" series. Who cares about the deep story behind Norman Bates. But all that said, that is only my POV. Just because something is filmed in HD with depth of field and pretense does not mean it is "better."

	12:56pm Mark Dillman: "Cannabis Sativa" by Head was used as background sound effects for legendary progressive rock DJ Clyde Clifford on KAAY radio from Little Rock, Arkansas, for about five years during the late 1960s-early 1970s. His program was called "Beaker Street" and was heard from 11:00pm until 2:00am Monday through Saturday. KAAY was a 50,000 watt AM radio station and was a clear channel at night (meaning no other AM radio station in the 48 states broadcast on that frequency) which allowed the signal to travel farther. Because this program was so widely heard it reached those parts of the South and Midwest that had no local progressive rock radio stations. Clyde Clifford was a godsend to remote hippies. I am not aware of a CD release of this album, so I suspect you have the original LP? Thank you for playing this.
