Favoriting June 23, 2015: R.I.P. James Horner
Morricone Island pays tribute to film composer James Horner who died yesterday at the age of 61 in a plane crash in Los Padres Forest near Santa Barbara, California. Although Horner will likely be best remembered for his blockbuster scores to Braveheart, Avatar and (the best-selling orchestral film soundtrack of all-time) Titanic, host Devon E. Levins will highlight some of his personal favorites from earlier in Horner's 100-plus career which began in the late 1970's.

Yark....sad to her that he died in the plane crash. I guess it's lucky there were no passengers along.

Mike East:

I ate too much movie popcorn yesterday and got a tummy ache...but that happens every time I go to the movies. I just don't learn.

P-90:

A real tragedy. I had not heard that Horner had died in an accident like that. At 61, he had at least another 100-plus scores to go.
@dale: Battle Beyond the Stars constantly surprises you with its smartness and hipness. Of all the Star Wars-like movies made in the few years after Star Wars, it's probably the best.

Truly sad. Even if you didn’t explicitly know his work, you heard his work all around you.
