I wasn't outraged when I opened the playlist, but now that I have...

I play this Evan Lurie record all the time--excellent work music.

Sounding good! Hurrah for office buildings w/good FMU FM reception, since the wi-fi might be hinky here. Or monitored by over-caffeinated squid creatures.

Ike:

Can't open main web page right now, what horrible outrage am I missing? No wait... screw it, I don't want to know.

That "California drivers" bit was one of those occasional moments when Joe reminds s me a bit of Jean Shepherd.

This Go! Team album seems to have been overlooked by almost everyone at WFMU (including me), but it's great.
Avatar 5:35pm
Matt from Springfield:

Ah, "Pre-lypso".
"Cleaned-up calypso records" - not the lyrics cleaned-up, I hope??
Avatar 5:37pm
steve:

will it make us fidget and squirm the way Neil Hamburger's standup usually does? or a different way? i like his standup.
Avatar 5:38pm
Matt from Springfield:

Joyless, de-stabilizing "Entertainment", hmmm.
  5:39pm
P-90:

Best movie review I've heard in a long time. Will approach this film with caution. Thanks Irwin.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:39pm
Irwin:

I love his standup too, but there's not much standup in it. It's a story. Sort of. Kind of. Maybe.
Avatar 5:39pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Irwin: We go together - just like Traffic & Weather!

But actually that could be a good 7SD stunt (if they haven't done so already): WFMU reports for an hour on other people's traffic and weather. Where you are, call in to 7SD and report how it is at your location!
  5:42pm
P-90:

...guess I'll see it when in the mood for a good "mirthless laugh." Or on a date with someone who might have a taste for "destabilizing entertainment".
  5:46pm
P-90:

@Matt: 7SD has a potentially good idea tonight.
Of course, those guys would be the first to admit (or gloat?) that their biggest bombs have come from "potentially good ideas".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46pm
Irwin:

It's a great first-date flick. You'll know within ten minutes if you want to spend another evening with the person sitting alongside you.
Avatar 5:50pm
Matt from Springfield:

@P-90: That's for sure. But from a PR perspective, this could be a nice gesture for the regular, "journeyman" talents being managed by publicists. Otherwise those people wouldn't get such media exposure without the 7SD premise!
Avatar 5:50pm
Matt from Springfield:

"Hash 'em", not "Hash-eem". Got it.
Smoke 'em (in fact, hash 'em) if you've got 'em.
Avatar 5:52pm
Matt from Springfield:

In print: "Can I buy that a copy of that thing in your company's vault?"
"Sure."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:53pm
Irwin:

It's HASH-im. Repeat after me.
Avatar 5:55pm
Matt from Springfield:

"HASH-im", does that sound right? Can you hear my keyboard keys?

Elysian Fields - how I've missed you Irwin! :)
Avatar 5:58pm
Matt from Springfield:

All right! Thanks Irwin, always a pleazh!
