The stinkbugs on google are not the ones I remember. We called them stinkbugs, but I think they were bombardier beetles. Big black bastards.

I haven't seen a bombardier beetle since my childhood in the California desert, but yes, I did like the smell.

My nephew recently got stung by a flying insect and almost died. So now I hate all of them.

understandable,simon...some of them are beneficial though,and harmless to people; like ladybugs,dragonflies,cicada killer wasps...and bees- for the most part (except the "hybrid killer bees",i guess?)- if you're not "allergic" to them.
