Hi all, keeping cozy under the covers with some warm "out" sounds...dreading the Ozzie walk as I watch things blow by outside.

Hi, @doctorjazz! Yeah, it's crazy windy out there...

I suggested getting the kids out to a wiener dog race. But, I might redirect to the library
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:23am
Jeff Golick:

Greetings, @Andrew Waterloo! Wiener dog race sounds superb.

This "Ballad" I is very beautiful...must have worked really hard on the song title...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:30am
Jeff Golick:

(Do not adjust your set: that is pianist Masabumi Kikuchi bleating along with the tune.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:30am
Jeff Golick:

@doctorjazz: I sort of appreciate the straightforwardness of it.

@glenn: here we go! As a Met fan, I find it hard to start the season with high expectations, but...

well, if matt harvey can learn to just let himself go, he might have a chance.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:37am
Jeff Golick:

Yup. Harvey needs to stop thinking so much. Seems to overstress the machinery.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:46am
Jeff Golick:

I listened to this Loren Connors tune a bunch on my train commute out to Long Island this past week. Goes well with train travel.

Nova had an article on the health benefits of donuts.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:09am

My heart just skipped a beat.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:10am

(Probably because of all the donuts I've eaten.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:10am

A large mug of beer will help you recover Jeff.

the near by grocery store has fresh donuts now, so there have been more donuts in my life lately.

Nice to hear some John Carter, haven't pulled these or in a while.
Going to go dunk some donuts in beer now.

I like that Moon Waltz isn't a waltz, at least not so far.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:16am
Jeff Golick:

If there's a set ripe for rediscovery and new-box treatment, it's Carter's Roots and Folklore 5-CD series.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 10:23am
doctorjazz:

That's a fine, relatively recent release of Bradford/Carter.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:26am

Their Self-Determination Music -- and also, I think, Flight for Four? -- saw nice reissues lately.

Oh man, I used to work at a record store circa 1988 where one of my co-workers played this Black Uhuru record almost every day. Somehow, I still like it all these years later.

Hi, @Dean! Is that true? I am going to believe that it is, and skip the googling.

Dean:

It's a conjecture, but must be so, no? W,S&S was the title of the English translation of the memoir. The English version first appeared in 1940, I'm pretty sure, but it probably stayed in print for some time. There is a 1965 "special edition" published by Time, for instance.
