Loved how, in yesterday's Good Grey obit, they helpfully explained that Gato "means 'cat'". They didn't specifically add "in Spanish". I hope that doesn't confuse readers into thinking that Gato means cat in Brazilian.

HOOOOOOONK!!! <shaking fist>

Occasionally I'd lock in on the band, but nothing was more satisfying than when you'd get pulled into the movie and forget that the band was even there. Sort of a bizarro live music experience.

Or at least, any more than confusing people here that Brazilian is a language? -)

I once drunkenly referred to somebody "speaking Austrian" at a party. I'm still embarrassed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:34am

@Greg/Parq: I said Brazilian until I became very close with a Brazilian dude. It happens!

Dean:

You meant Australian, right, Greg?

@Dean: you beat me to it.

You guys know the old political joke -- an aide reports to Bush that two Brazilian soldiers were killed in Iraq. Bush says, "That's horrible -- how many is a brazilian"?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:38am
ChrisB.:

@Parq: No, but, HA!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:38am
Joe McG:

@Parq: Ha ha!
  11:39am
Dean:

Didn't know that one, Parq! How charitable of you to characterize it as a "political" joke.

Dean -- well, of course, Republicans immediately repurposed it as a Clinton joke.

Doesn't Pete Townsend play bass on this record?
Avatar 11:41am

I know he produced it

@ChrisB: Yeah, The Croaked Corner.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:42am

@Parq: hahahah, thats great.

Really, it's actually pretty adaptable. EG -- an aide approaches Osama Bin Laden and says, "Glorious news, oh mighty righteous one; two Brazilian soldiers --- "

But IS he to blame???!!! i need to know. I have invested too much time in that song to not know.

A meta-joke: That Brazilian joke is funny when it's about Bush, but NOT when it's about Clinton!
