Live performance and chat with Guitarist Glenn Jones

After many years with the post-rock ensemble Cul De Sac, Guitarist Glenn Jones sent himself down the path of alternative tunings, eventually leading to his full embrace of the American Primitive playing style. His newest album, "Fleeting," was recorded almost literally on the banks of Rancocas Creek in Mount Holly, New Jersey, incorporating a comfortable environmental feeling to his music. Just prior to a European tour Glenn Jones stopped by to play a few tunes on WFMU.

Irene, you always play such beautiful music on your show. When I first moved East you were on in the afternoons, and I'd listen to you at work, but I don't get to hear you as much in the evenings. But tonight I happen to be on the West Coast, so I get to tune in.
  11:25pm
Carmichael:

Hey Mark r, where are you?

Tonight I'm in Marina Del Ray, Carmichael. Til Thursday. Then I'll be back in NJ.

Ok. I am north in Sacramento. You have better beaches ... :)

Well it's a business thing so I'm not really getting to any beaches, but there are lots of boats in the marina and the weather is beautiful.

This time I had a valid absence excuse - I spent the evening at a live Hilary Hahn violin performance at the exquisitely gorgeous Strathmore music center in Bethesda, MD. She was, as always, truly amazing. One of the arguably top 3 to 5 virtuoso violinists on the planet.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:31am

Wow, I'll bet Hilary was fantastic! Her performances really move me. Very adventurous!
