Hello and good morning, Carol, Video Booth.

fred:

Good morning Carol and listeners. I'm glad to hear I will be able to catch a little of your show on Saturdays
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:13am
CarolCrow:

Good morning VB, Sem & fred! Glad you could join me here today!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:17am
CarolCrow:

After this show, I'll be returning to a new slot on the Friday night/Saturday morning after next (Jan 6-7) from 3-6 AM.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:23am
fred:

I doubt I'll up at 9am on Saturdays, but before noon sounds doable.

annie:

good morning, all!! i see your new slot will afford me an hour or so at least. that's good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:26am
CarolCrow:

Great thing about FMU is that you can listen to any show anytime on the archive :) But it has been so nice to have you all here in "real time." Thanks so much for hanging with me these past Monday mornings!
Avatar 6:28am
annie:

i sure wish i knew what tweaked the headphones plug on this laptop. no sound from the speakers unless i plug the headphones in. downright confusing..
Avatar 6:33am
Jay/London:

@ annie have you looked at your sound settings .. just saying
Avatar 6:37am
annie:

oh,, and happy boxing day!! be sure to treat your household workers with goodies! well, jay, the sound settings are fine; this silent built-in speakers thing is pretty random. i know there's an explanation, but sorting out all the variables is annoying, si i just keep the headphones pluggd in. some day, the little lightbulb will go off above my head and the answer will come. my only theory is the plugging in and unplugging of the hedphones jack is the clue.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:38am
CarolCrow:

Good morning annie...Jay! Happy to have you both :)
Avatar 6:46am
Jay/London:

@ annie sounds like the connector might be loose inside the computer .. what about plugging ex speakers into the head phone socket or using bluetooth speakers ..... hey nice calm show Carol :) happy boxing day to you all
Avatar 6:50am
annie:

yes, jay, i do that when i'm home, but i'm pet-sitting, so i have to use the laptop speakers or headphones. someday i may investigate a bluetooth. ....see, now the laptop's speakers are working... very very random. oh, well, first-world problems.

M:

Oh, nice transition into live Floyd!!

You guys beat me to it! Nice :) :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:14am
Sem Chumbo:

Thompson in an interview said that he had typed great swaths of The Great Gatsby, in order to study the structure of the story, and that the structure of Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas was the result of his study.

Might have been the ether talking.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:17am
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Thompson's relevance is obvious to quantify - but still fascinating & challenging to qualify. (Everyone's a gonzo journalist now, aren't they?) Even his exceptional hijinx would be of little import were he not in the small handful of best & most important Writers of the Time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:22am
Sem Chumbo:

We're on the same bus there, RevRab.

Hi, Carol. I was wondering who'd get Stashu's old slot. I hope it doesn't clash too severely with your normal sleep/work/life schedule. Mary Wing said that slot was not for her.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:30am
CarolCrow:

@ Ken: I work M-F, so it should work out just great! :)
