Shimmy Disc had such a distinct roster. I have a section of my collection devoted to just that label (+plus semi-related items I can cram into it).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12pm
Rich in Washington:

anything Kramer related/affiliated, I guess.
Avatar 1:14pm

There are some great Shimmy Disc videos on youtube -- def worth looking for....

For example, the Bongwater vids....

Rev. Turnip Druid:

After selling off the vinyl collection in the early '90s and re-building it slowly, somehow I've only managed to get one or two of the old Shimmys... The Daevid Allen+Kramer one, I think..

Rev. Turnip Druid:

oh of course, and Bongwater/double bummer, infinite classic.

@Rev. Turnip Druid: I too rid myself of a lot of cool 80s indy records and now find them unobtainable,
Avatar 1:27pm
Cecile:

Rev, do you need a copy of Double Bummer? I think I still have one.
Avatar 1:28pm
Tony Coulter:

I've re-bought a ton of records. Usually for more money and in worse shape.
Avatar 1:28pm
Scraps:

Unfortunately, Shimmy Disc was also cheap. Most of Shimmy Disc's CDs in my collection ended up not working eventually.
Avatar 🥁 1:29pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

Neh, C, I've got that & the D.Allen+Kramer one. I used to have many more Shimmys but they are long gone.. and YES, TC, exactly. Re-building the collection has taken a decade & too much $$ to think about.
Avatar 🥁 1:30pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

I have Shimmy Disc to thank for first appearance on vinyl, so they'll always have a special place in Turnip Heart...

There needs to be a term for all those guilt-ridden record re-purchases. They account for maybe 35% of all my recent used vinyl purchases.
