View Uncle Michael's profile |
Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

"Goat's Head Soup" is a great record when I want to feel my heart hurt in a good way.
"Tattoo You" is for dancing and nostalgia.

supported emmylou for a few shows
1977 albert lee had just joined
emmylou was overshadowed by her own band
in my opinion
she was a bit of a shoegazer
as a front person
great singer and harmony singer

@coel: Early Paul's Rawk voice excelled @ the high LittleRichard thang, while John was throatier & more Soulful. John always expressed himself emotionally - & those emotions were always complex.

Thx UM ! 'Time you enjoyed wasting wasn't wasted.' - Lennon
Lane Gray:
If you listen for the emotive load of the songs, they sang their own songs as if they were feeling the story; they sang and played covers as if their primary emotion was "I love this song!"
So you don't feel they're feeling the song. NEITHER WERE THEY. Just dig the song because they did.
