Did you do something to bring out more bass in Mr. Giant Man this time? Maybe it's my receiver, or maybe because I dewaxed my ear, but after the funny horn blew, I heard a lot more brass underneath than usually.

Anytime you have an earworm, use the Riley Method: Imagine slicing a piece of it off and repeating it over and over and over as done here. This method of earworm-breaking has helped me countless times. Your mileage may vary.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:24pm

yes, Fripp "adopted" it.

i did not say fripp was the first ... just sayin'

a firend of mine is a specialist in livelooping.
and he does live shows with the traditional line-up againg:
two revox-machines for the main part, the first rdeocrding feeding tape to the second and the second playing and feeding back signal to the first.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29pm
coelacanth∅:

well it was dubbed "frippertronics" after all, by somebody...maybe even Eno.

i once got to my friend's house, as a youngster in the 70s...the friend who'd turned me on to Eno...and he had most of his basement wall covered with pegboard and 1" magnetic tape threaded around many thread spools, feeding through a reel-to-reel.
i learned something that day.

It was indeed Eno who dubbed it Frippertronics. Heavenly Music Corporation from No Pussyfooting is, I read, the actual recording of Fripp being introduced to tape delay in Eno's studio.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:36pm
coelacanth∅:

hahaha! was that track too much of a liability?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:37pm

@Guido: It's cool that there are people still doing it with actual tape machines.
