Jonesey after the initial run back in the 70's AM scrubbed it from their playlists I've heard it on radio maybe a handful of times since then. Thanks for playing it.

I'm a little disappointed about the lackluster "blizzard" conditions, I must admit. I know, First World problems.

Good Morning, Your Eminence!!!!!
Quick traffic update: There are plows out. Some cops. Not much of anyone else. I guess everyone took the day off to enjoy their bread and milk. I didn't get bread and milk. I got cigarettes and lottery tickets. But I took the day off.
Rock on!
(Hey Irwin!)

FM frequency range can skip due to Sporadic E / Tropospheric ducting - it's not reliable like the night time skip down on the AM frequencies, but it can happen occasionally and it can seem like magic.

Alas I don't think I could convince Ken that a 500kW WFMU shortwave transmitter would be financially prudent, so alas the web is the only option to hear you guys in Ireland :)

'Webio' seems an accurate, spiffy term - but don't think it's getting traction...Here in NorthNewEngland - the hills block signals so didn't grow up w/ that classic Murican experience of hearing stations 1,000s of miles away so much...

Other david, I used to DX a lot via sporadic E & tropospheric bending/ducting. Mostly TV. Got some interesting loggings. One of the interesting things was how the stronger the E skip, the shorter the hop. Some of us took advantage of more exotic propagation modes: aurora & meteor scatter.
  8:28am
Listener Robert:

Had a friend here who during the sunspot max got transatlantic TV. It happened that the i.f. circuitry of a standard NTSC TV receiver was tuned to the lowest channel video frequency of the old British TV system, though with black-white polarity reversed.
  8:31am
Listener Robert:

Among that friend's distinctions was that he'd worked at WOR, and Jean Shepherd used to annoy him by whistling c.w. to him in the hallway.

OK, then. It has a message that's pro-mutual-aid, so it might encourage donations if people think about it. Too bad it's too filthy for X-Ray Burns to sing on the air.

Instead of hooking up my CPAP last night, which I should do to help get out of this spate of atrial fibirillation, I went to sleep to a loop of this -- www.youtube.com...
