I have a great photo pair from my time in Texas, showing a welcome sign to Big Spring next to the highway, and then a shot from the same vantage point not much later in the day when the windblown brown dust nearly obscured it.

i never knew the song "how long's the train been gone". i guess that's where they got the name for the Coltrane documentary. i never even considered it.
Avatar 11:47pm
Kris Holmes:

hmm i don't know
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:51pm
coelacanth∅:

it's entitled "how long has Trane been gone", so i think so. (Doug aired the entirety of it over 6 shows, several years ago. - not archived, unfortunately)

I wanted to tell you that I loved Band Of Gold as a teenager. My mom (through her thick french accent) thought I was saying "Free Da Pain" instead of "Freda Payne " when I was talking about the artist I thought was cool.
Avatar 11:56pm
Kris Holmes:

thanks, that's a great story. Free Da Pain!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:56pm

When I had a child and was playing kids music "Sharon, Lois and Bram" for her, my mom thought they were called "Sharing Loads of Bran". Consistent fun.
