Pretty sure Satchmo and Kid Ory weren't munching on pepperoni pies back in the day.

I actually think Hawks is a lot like Star'n'Bars; Re-Ac-Tor is the most stupid fun rock n roll record in existence; Everybody's Rockin' is charming;etc. etc. Old Ways is beautifully recorded (digitally - a first back in '85)
