Favoriting Hinky Dinky Time with Uncle Michael: Playlist from May 12, 2017 Favoriting

Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

Evening uncle michael and the band!
  12:33pm
Dean:

@Jeff G.: CF is one among many labels that gots to chill, as far as I'm concerned. But what can I do about it? Buy all the releases just to show 'em? Speaking of so many records, I've been reading Fanfare lately, reviews of classical records. The box sets are nuts: Eugen Jochum on DG (42 CDs), almost complete Reger organ works (14 CDs), Michael Raucheisen German lieder recitals (66 CDs)... Maybe CF will head in that direction.

@doc: though the digital edition (which I prefer these days) is $999. (They don't have the rights to sell a digital edition, is what I'm guessing. Clean Feed does not maintain their own Bandcamp page. ROVA is just selling the CD direct.)

Dean:

@doc: Henry Kaiser travels in many circles. He has a great electric Miles ensemble with Wadada Leo Smith and at least one amazing noise-shred record with Weasel Walter and Damon Smith. His catalog is deep.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:44pm
doctorjazz:

Jeff; the way I read the post, they didn't have the digital edition to sell. I think they just put a ridiculous price because they had to enter something in the spot, and didn't want people to order it without carefully reading the text).
@Dean-I do have the Yo Miles stuff, it is really good. It's the deep catalog that makes it impossible to feel like I "know" his music.
Anyway, I have the CD on order, willing to "share" when it comes...
