Morning all! I once made the mistake of reading the YouTube comments on a Lancelot Link video. Most of the comments were a heated debate as to whether the apes were actually playing the instruments, before devolving into a Creationist flamewar.
@ Ken : ok let's do that, I can skype. But I must warn you, I know nothing about homeschooling.

Sorry folks, but Morphe is live today.
"IT IS ALIVE!!!!!" [I got nervous between IT's and ITS]
Just an English Teacher????
Tales from the Crypt of the old world...

i used to have piano recitals and all the other girls participating, myself included, ended up playing the same dion masterpiece. imagine hearing the shitty version of this song ad nauseam by a bunch of third graders in a beautiful hall along route 17...
Ken, You've played both Gwenno and Bowie from Extras. Put them together you've got Gwenno Bowie Chubby Little Loser by me, the very modest (though not quite as humble as President Trump, obviously) Ernst Soup. Puhlease!
I was wondering where you were going on the cannibalism angle!

mr.mikestandsir:
I was under the impression that WFMU was declared a *rump-free zone... Not that I mind the incessant disparaging of the man.

i love timothy. the first few times i listened to it i wasn't really paying attention to the lyrics and i thought it was just a fun song. i thought it was kinda mysterious, like what happened to timothy? was it about a gang fight or something? i wasn't listening hard enough to hear the cannibalism references. then i was reading an article about the creepiest songs of the 70s and there it was. what, timothy? how is my fun little song creepy? then i listened again, more carefully this time. wowee
I don't want Trump to die;I want him to appear even more obviously peri-senile in public, say smearing ordure on his face during a speech, so that at least _some_ of his voters will understand what they did. He scares me, but his voters scare me more in the long term.
Sorry if this were supposed to be a D.T.-free zone...that stuff's infectious.
Has anybody done a song about the D[elirium ]T[remen]s?
@Sebastian If I recall the movie correctly, he's eating a rabbit he caught in the yard with his bare hands. It's basically the Addams Family, but with incest and cannibalism.
Of course cannibals eat vegetarian, they're more nutritious. Vegetarian animals are better for you then carnivores, and omnivore (like bears and most humans), are the next best alternative.
The family in "Bob's Burgers" were originally supposed to be cannibals—fortunately, Evil Corporate Meddling stepped in.
(Mr Spock was supposed to be a hot-tempered guy with a tail who never ate but absorbed energy through a metal plate in his stomach; Majel Barrett was supposed to play an extremely important character, requiring that she act competently…thanks, Evil Corporate Meddling.)
oh hey, Ken I found a mistake in the playlist!
That Rosa Extra song is called Was Mir Deine Schleuder Ist Dir Meine Waschmaschine. This way it makes no sense whatsoever!!!
Roberto: I also do not want a baby that looks like that.

Now that Trump challenged Tillerson to take an IQ test to see who is more intelligent between them, wouldn't be more interesting if Andy participates as well in the IQ battle? (i.e. Andy vs homeschool children vs Frenchman)
For reasons lost to time, my family had a New Years Day tradition of watching the Popeye movie. I need to pick up this reissue-- hearing all these cuts on FMU has been so nice.
This song is from the deluxe edition of Popeye's soundtrack. Yes! Deluxe edition!! Christ on a bike! I thought that privilege was reserved to the albums of big transcendental musical geniuses such as Beethoven, Brahms, Beatles...but Popeye's?!
The amount of talent and effort that went into that movie has always blown my mind: Nilsson (with Van Dyke Parks arranging) and Altman (with Robert Evans producing and a script by Jules Feiffer, though who knows how much script Altman ever used). Tough to imagine that on a cartoon adaptation these days.
Hi Ken, random thought: would you consider compiling your weekly episode recaps of Scorsese's "Vinyl" onto a CD for swag sometime in the future? They always cracked me up
And in the past the great artists were basically forced to focus on religion in order to make a living, whether it was painters like Michaelangelo or composers like Bach.
I feel like I'm watching "the making of" the great historical Seven Seconds Delay Episode where pierre calls in.
I can even picture pierre adding WFMU to his Skype contacts and then running the library to study as many subjects as possible to be ready for the show.
@F™F™ (: i'll be training like I always do, with a glass of beer, it's gonna be midnight when this is going to start :)
11:36am
F™F™ (:
I propose to continue with the great Seven Seconds Delay tradition of having the guest say something very FCC UN-friendly in his native language at the end of the show.

Hi Ken, a quick note to say hello, Miles my youngest son and I visited the station was it 3 years ago? You kindly gave us the grand tour, and I bought a WFMU t Shirt. We were from Melbourne Australia where I worked as a programmer and music coordinator at Community station 3CR. Currently I'm tuning in from palatial surroundings in Phuket in Thailand. Love your work.
