Webhamster Henry:

Hi David! It's hard to realize how ubiquitous Burl Ives was at one point in his career. Some of that might have been due to his tattling to HUAC, so other folk singers remained on the blacklist while he was free to sing and act.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm
fred:

Damn, this made me regret even more that I missed them last month (Marcia Bassett & Samara Lubelski)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm
Webhamster Henry:

What was the video like for that Bassett/Lubelski set?
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 3:18pm
david w:

Weisblat is unpredictable but this video was inkblot bleeding colors, kind of stained glass comes alive
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:30pm

Hey Fred. I miss so much stuff! Can't afford to feel bad about it. Then again Bassett/Lubelski is pretty wonderful.

steveo, spellcheck is killing me here. it wants you to be stereo.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:33pm
steveo:

Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 3:46pm
david w:

Greetings coela and Henry. Glad to keep your ears busy!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50pm
coelacanth∅:

spellcheck is like big brother; mind control.
last week i used someone else's computer and it really pissed me off. i literally was not allowed, no matter how many times and methods i tried to to correct its aggressions, to express myself freely. i wouldn't consider changing the settings on her computer...i suppose it's not as annoying to the more obedient of us.
- my laptops are set to underline what may be "incorrect" but not to change anything automatically.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 3:51pm
david w:

Yeah, I go back and forth on this. Trying different things that intrude with a light touch.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:56pm
stereo:

oh well this music is just what i needed, apparently
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:56pm
coelacanth∅:

well if i ever get a new computer it better be something i can at least turn off, if not reasonably adjust. i'd prefer no spellcheck at all than one that does the "correction" for me.
...(also - fairly often they underline words that are perfectly acceptable in any dictionary; or that are the original english spelling of words; which i sometimes use without thought - maybe because of the old novels that i often read)
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 3:57pm
david w:

And in glorious stereo!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:57pm
steveö:

:)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:59pm
coelacanth∅:

indeed. i have to work and move around though so cannot appreciate the stereo of it, except when i'm sitting right here.

davideo:

This is my name mutant.
Avatar 4:01pm
βrian:

coelacanth∅: Amen to that. Until I corrected the setting, my phone was turning my kisses into bison. ("Bisous")
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:01pm

wearing headphones all day is pretty nice except for when my ear itches and also it smushes my hair and i am very vain; aw, eo's for everyoneo!

Sometimes our mediated reality feels to me like an enormous casino.I just want to find my way through the labyrinth to the exit and walk out into the desert and the sun.

Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 4:18pm
david w:

I always thought Kenzo was impermeable, but maybe he is diaphanous (I'm testing spellcheck).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:24pm
fred:

Is autotune the spellcheck of music?
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 4:25pm
david w:

Oh, that is beautiful.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 4:28pm

Equally invasive, and when used badly it makes you look like a moron.
