"I listened yesterday. It's no reflection on you but I could'nt see where you were going or what you were going for. This early seventies thing did'nt get noticed the first time and you talk about friends of like Dealney and Bonnie who had records out like we're supposed to remember who they are. Then you play this long winded free jazz stuff that really grates on my nerves. And that noise without a beat and sounds like someones being pinched. Then you play a reggae song, I think you called it Dub, to what, be cool? You seem to really fetishize the whole folk thing too which is obnoxious to us who don't even care. I liked it when you played that punk song though. I like Joe Belock a lot." (Visit homepage.)

John, you know Blues Traveler has NEVER been played on FMU? You could be the first! I suggest "But Anyway".

melinda:

Hi John and all. That would be funny if the first FMU Blues Traveler happened now. But it would totally ruin the vibe.
Avatar 9:16am
northguineahills:

I think John could make it fit in thematically or w/ a clever segue.

This is what I hear in my head trying to sleep every night.

Wfmu is a safe space where we can be free of blues traveler

@Planet Tyler online listeners would hear a tiny sliver of JM in the AM at the very end of the show before 9:00. Not knowing the full history of the station I thought it was a 15-second parody segment of a show, like Jim Price's 1-minute show.

@Planet Tyler: I'm no longer in NYC, but just moved south after 17 years, so, yeah, it gives me a chortle.

Good morning JA, et al. Nick Carter is awesome. I've never heard a Blues Traveler song but I'm guessing it's never been played here for a reason.

JM in the AM has a strange place in my heart although I have to say, I would make myself listen to it as punishment for staying up all night back in the day...
Avatar 10:00am

@Melinda - I'm sure that was confusing!

Anyone who listens to SSD would probably know who Nachum is too. Plus he's been in some FMU videos
