When he learned to speak properly they started making him the focus and the episodes grew increasingly stilted, losing the fun and spontaneity of the classics. And Alfalfa by all accounts was hated by all for his nasty pranks and lousy personality.

The MGM episodes were very shitty and featured “Froggie” one of the worst of the “Rascals” ever. Chubby, Dorothy, Stymie, Mary Ann… All excellent. Robert Blake was a turd in the Little Rascals during a turd era. But he was great on Baretta.
