Avatar 10:21pm

Worse, such as: a young friend said this evening she didn’t respond to text series while driving. When she checked, they were from a name she didn’t know, addressing her by the wrong name. The “where are you” and “left work?” inquiries were followed byyyy...naked pic of female sender. Wrong target or weird scammy biz? Anyway, THAT would be worse! Sooo terrible!

I'm doing good. Enjoying the show!

The Internet is telling me that on the full-length Washrag LP the guitar cred goes to Captain Guitar, indeed an alias for Cropper.
Avatar 10:58pm

Nice, thanks for the detective work there Dan! I thought it was a bit obvious to not be him.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:29pm

first 1/2 of mic break was partial sentences, like a difficult phone call. it's been okay since then.
Avatar 11:30pm
still b/p:

Stream only movies with thin plots so the pipe ain’t tight.
Avatar 11:30pm
Kris Holmes:

ok, well let me know if turning off the movie has fixed it. The weather has been overcast/damp today which also seems to not help.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:30pm

Dean:

Humidity affects the Internet? I don't think so. RFC, please.
Avatar 11:42pm
Kris Holmes:

all i know is that when it's rainy here the internet is weak, i have no idea why :-(
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:43pm
coelacanth∅:

of course humidity can affect some internet configurations. it's an electrical connection.
  11:44pm
Dean:

Recall that the 'net was developed to deliver an infrastructure that would survive a nuclear blast.
Avatar 11:46pm
Kris Holmes:

but apparently not rainy days in the Southwest lol
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:46pm
coelacanth∅:

haha! do they really tell people that?
...really all you have to do is duck, and cover.
Avatar 11:47pm
geezerette:

"Baby Rice" !!!
Avatar 11:47pm
geezerette:

classy cartoon music!!!
  11:50pm
Dean:

Basic utilities, like lighting at home are also electrical connections. Do we ordinarily notice lapses in those services during rain? No. We give way too much credit to the boobs who created the 'net, in my biased opinion.

Yes, they do tell people that. The whole point of the 'net was to leverage redundancy, so that if one important node was blown away--MAE West, say--others would pick up the traffic.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:54pm
coelacanth∅:

the actual reason though, not the pretend reason, is to instill a false sense of security in the general population, so that when the shit hits the fan the people wont be prepared.
  11:56pm
Dean:

The general population doesn't know the first thing about TCP/IP and DNS. Ergo, they can't have much of a false sense about it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:57pm
coelacanth∅:

Dean, the wires that carry 120v into homes is a whole lot more robust than tv. internet etc cables; so yeah, we don't have dropouts in our electricity.
Avatar 11:58pm
Kris Holmes:

Thanks guys!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:58pm
coelacanth∅:

Thanks Kris!
