I encountered someone who grew up in NY state who had never heard a loon. This amazed me, since I was pretty sure s/he had the means to travel, at least locally.

I've seen it from the air (not that it counts).

Looney birds is was US military personnel called albatrosses since they are so ungainly and awkward on the ground.

sound fine to me. The phone sounds about the same, and iTunes has the GTDS stream, louder for me, but there is a slight difference in the popup that makes the GTDS stream slightly less loud.
