Favoriting Bryce: Playlist from May 11, 2018 Favoriting

I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

The Indonesian Embassy in DC was open to the public last weekend and they played a small gamelan with some dancing. It was nice. Also Trinidad had a mini-soca parade past the Embassy of Peru (where we were).

One other strange thing--the Indonesian Embassy had an electric pipe organ. The console had a 50s-ish look to it.

i remember getting this Indonesian compilation album out of library in Belgium in '95! Thanks for the reminder Bryce. i love the way it just sort of ambles along. Some of the tracks just sound like a roomful of hippies jamming randomly [in the best possible way : )]

shoutout to mr. blumin for letting me know about this rather incredible 12-CD box from '16. m. henry personally remastered all this stuff (along with long-time technical collaborator, Bernadette Mangin), almost right up to his death....and i have to say, it sounds absolutely stunning on the nice Adam A8X's in here....

Bryce since you once played "El Tren Fantasma" could you play Chris Watson's "Cima Verde" in it's entirety some Friday? full of nature sounds.

I've also never heard this before, completely blown away!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:21pm
Passaic River Blues:

There were whole segments of "Histoire Naturelle" that were perfect synthesis of sound as narrative or theater. Shit was phenomenal.
Avatar 2:26pm

joe, that could very well happen! been on a kick, trying to rack down the chris watsons i'm missing....
Avatar 2:26pm
Bryce:

oh man, so glad people were digging that henry. i sure love that piece....
  2:27pm
Stepchild:

@George, I have both and the answer is, not terribly much overlap. The CD box has many later era works entirely absent from the LP set. Plus for that many discs it’s pretty damn affordable imo
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:28pm
joe mulligan:

thanks Bryce! and I did love that Henry. so nice to hear while stuck in an office

Ken From Hyde Park:

Three hours doesn't seem like enough. Can we get a Bryce Stream set up and continue this loveliness?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:51pm
Barney Grubbs:

@steveo, if you call the 2-methylpropyl group an isobutyl group (iBu), then the name ibuprofen (iBu-pro(panoic acid)-phen(yl)) almost makes sense
