The idea that Vince Guaraldi somehow hated his work for Peanuts is silly if you understand that it was an uphill battle just to get jazz music as part of a children’s cartoon. Heck, even Charles Schultz doubted it. But it worked. That’s art for ya! There are definitely a lot of bitter a-holes in the arts, but Vince Guaraldi never seemed to be one.
