i knew a guy who's eyes weren't in sync. opposite of cross-eyed. he said it was cool; he had a wider range of reasonably good focus than most people and could effectively focus in 2 different directions at once.

Went to see a prayer before dawn a few days ago. It was good. Only so much you can do with a prison movie that hasnt been done but it convinced me never to do drugs in Thailand

I wish i knew more about Canadian traditional music, like ancient, not Stan Rogers or Gordon Lightfoot. Despite living here and trying to be in tune, the only Innu (for instance) music I hear is throat singing. I feel like Im missing a lot more.

the problem with traditional is the way it's presented. so much of it was presented in a spirit of nationalism or tourism or education so there's a lot that is missed. the thailande record i played earlier on playasound has a piece that is so different from anything else on the record that it doesn't even sound like it could possibly come from the same country. i think there's way more of that than we can imagine. there's such a divide when you listen to a lyrichord record versus an ocora record (for the most part) that you can imagine that they are recorded on different planets; sometimes it's the technology, usually it's the ear of the person behind the mic
