Phew!
Oi, this stations' gonna give me a heart attack. Very sorry that Georgy got sabotaged again, but do check the archives for the last part of her show.
  4:04pm
Martinibomb:

I love this Muki track a ton - never get tired of it for some reason
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:05pm
Rich in Washington:

Ooo! Speaking of library music, our friend Taylor J/Ironybread just tweeted this compilation on the twitters: www.forcedexposure.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:06pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Bran Flakes!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:07pm
Otis Fodder:

Never really got into The Bran Flakes stuff. I dunno, it's so silly.
Avatar 4:07pm
Mr Fab:

Bran Flakes featuring one of our Friday hosts here in the Room, Otis Fodder.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:07pm
Rich in Washington:

Brilliant mixing, Martinibomb!
  4:08pm
Martinibomb:

Yeah who makes this stuff?? Thanks! I love beatmatching/mixing
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:08pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Oh my God, Otis!!!! The Bran Flakes RULE. Ugh. You have no taste ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:08pm

  4:08pm
Martinibomb:

oooh! That sounds like fun -- plus I been wanting to get you on my other radio show
  4:09pm
Martinibomb:

Make sure you guys play this mix at full volume. I recorded it to a cassette tape for some extra saturation
Avatar 4:10pm
Mr Fab:

and both Bran Flakes and Martinibomb tracks can be heard on this station's stream
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10pm

  4:12pm
Martinibomb:

This is stuff I always liked DJn like 20 years ago.. but it doesn't play well in a club.. I think radio is better
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:12pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Christ this show is fantastic :-)
  4:13pm
Martinibomb:

Thanks Georgy!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:13pm
Otis Fodder:

Radio much better. People would be swaying back and forth and going to the bar and chatting. So much better served on this show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:14pm
Dutchman Jan:

I would love to go to a club that played this, but I don't know any!
  4:14pm
Martinibomb:

Yeah i think so too. The music is just too complex and silly to play out much. HOwever I used to dj at a punk bar and it kinda worked the best there
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:14pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

See ... I've DJed live, both then and now, and it was a lot of fun ... But the radio. Oh the radio. I can make whole world's on the radio :-) God, I love radio.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:15pm
Otis Fodder:

Nice, CMR!
  4:16pm
Martinibomb:

Yeah he's not finished with this track/album yet but he sent me this new mix of this song he's been working on for awhile
Avatar 4:22pm
Mr Fab:

Yeah I used to be really into this kinda stuff th 90s. Hadnt thought about it much until I started putting this station together. it's time for the lounge Revival Revival!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:23pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Does this mean we're all cool again? ;-)
  4:23pm
Martinibomb:

Things come in 20 year cycles so it is time for the next generation to get into it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:25pm
Rich in Washington:

Hey, anyone here used to listen to Weirdsville in the late 90s? We're talking way back in the RealPlayer age.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:25pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Me!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:25pm
Otis Fodder:

Yes, Weirdsville, I did!

Avatar 4:27pm
Mr Fab:

Crispy:

Lissen bud, he's got radioactive blood
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:29pm
Rich in Washington:

I don't remember how I found it. I didn't even have internet, let alone high speed internet in my house until 1998 or 99. I would just leave it on and listen to it all day at work.
Avatar 4:29pm
Mr Fab:

Didnt Weirdsville have a whole buncha different stations?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:29pm
Rich in Washington:

We all got radio-active blood now!
  4:29pm

@Crispy! Thanks for joining the chat roon

Eventually, yes. The Exotica one, one for weirdos and outsiders, etc. I think one of the guys involved set up a sort of freeze-dried version of it that you can still listen to, sort of.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:31pm
Rich in Washington:

Yo, Crispy!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:31pm
Rich in Washington:

This is seriously amazing, Martinibomb!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:31pm
Otis Fodder:

Here is the OG Weirdsville from Archive.org. Cancel when it tries to auto-downloads a ram file, ha! web.archive.org...
  4:31pm
Martinibomb:

Crispy was a guest on my Freeform Portland radio show about month or so ago. Played some great vinyl!
  4:32pm
Martinibomb:

@Rich thanks ! Man so glad you guys are digging the mix
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:32pm
Otis Fodder:

Does anyone remember Antenna Internet Radio?
  4:33pm
Martinibomb:

Yeah Antenna isn't that what friendly persuasion was first on?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:33pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Rings a bell ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:33pm
Rich in Washington:

I think both Weirdsville and Napster really jolted my weird music collecting thing back to life after a decade or more of dormancy.
Avatar 4:33pm
Mr Fab:

AIR is where i discovered you, Otis!
  4:33pm
Crispy:

Don't know how this doesn't get people shakin' their boots in a club, I can't barely keep workin' right now!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:34pm
Otis Fodder:

Ha, yea 1999, web.archive.org...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:35pm
Rich in Washington:

That and those ReSearch Incredibly Strange Music books. I had more or less given up on record hoarding, had even given away a substantial portion of my records, but those books also got me back into it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:35pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

I still have my two ReSearch zine books :-)
  4:36pm
Martinibomb:

@Otis I have a bunch of your FP shows from AIR that I recorded on minidisc. Still have em! Loved that Venereal Disease mix you did
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:36pm
Rich in Washington:

God, I love those old website designs. Takes me back. Ye Olde Internet.
Avatar 4:36pm
Mr Fab:

I didnt even have a home compiter yet. But I'd heard about this "'net radio"' fad, looked into it on a work computer, and AIR came up. I thought, man that Friendly Persuasion show looks great...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:36pm
Otis Fodder:

The ReSearch Books made me feel not so alone in my odd thrift shop vinyl addictions. Both are here on the shelf, still refer to them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:37pm
Rich in Washington:

ReSearch was our pre-internet cultural plug in node.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:37pm
Otis Fodder:
