@Michael 98145 - indeed. we have a triple-A (Adult Album Alternative) station whose motto is "Music for Music People." Compared to WFMU, they're not even close.

We have the much vaunted BBC Radio 6 over here.
Again, doesn't come close.

Have heard tracks off a different Catalyst LP - but not heard that Celestial Bodies tune before. Nice one!
  1:47pm
Man Of Few Werds:

Yeah, nice one
  1:49pm
Man Of Few Werds:

@ Stanley - I'm pretty sure not even the BBC vaunt BBC Radio 6, they tried to close it down a few years back.
  1:56pm
Man Of Few Werds:

Love this Adkins; good pick.

good to know...too bad he gives the impression HE chose them...
Avatar 2:00pm

I used to listen to Steve Harley's show some years back on BBC ... 3?

Sirius XM's Deep Tracks is nothing but classic rock major cuts by the same 10 or so bands.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:01pm

yep
  2:03pm
mekon86:

Love the Go Betweens, much better than the Beatles.
  2:03pm
Man Of Few Werds:

Even if Iggy did pick the tracks, he'd have to choose from the extremely narrow type of music selections that 6 music ever plays.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:04pm
Stanley:

@Man - The presenters think they're so great and are not shy in telling you that
And there is so much of that oh-so-chummy BBC chat, like they're our best friends.
Boring, to say the least.
Steve Harley show was good and so were occasional guests like Ray Davis.
Avatar 2:04pm
βrian:

I have fond memories of Glover, VT.
  2:07pm
Man Of Few Werds:

Every single member of the 6 music roster has some kind of speech impediment (which isnt their fault) but its a strange career choice with such an impediment. Thankfully, someone must have told Tom Ravenscroft that he sucks in with a flemmy noise between every sentence, bcuz he managed to drop it. Now he just has a very loud sucking in breath sound between each sentence. He has no breath control whatsoever. They need to learn a trick or 2 from Tony Blackburn.
Avatar 2:08pm
cobradan:

nice jams
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:14pm

I remember that sucky breath fella.
He spoke too much, anyway.
