Someone I know defended a PhD thesis last year about DIY noise. Unfortunately, it's in French, and there's no chance anyone will ever translate her work
Avatar 12:27pm
jeff-m:

hey all. THanks forlistenign
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:29pm
Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

fred: yet another fascinating piece written in French that i will never be able to enjoy, thanks to my complete lack of French language skills. As an admirer of OULIPO, it is indeed a poignant reality for me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:32pm
Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

and i am very much enjoying the syrupy noises i am hearing
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:33pm
fred:

Kink Gong has an amazing catalog. I met him years ago and he offered me wholesale price (€5) on his records so I took 20
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:33pm
coelacanth∅:

Jeff after all my prizes and (non-tshirt) marathon premiums were stolen before reaching me, Joe managed to find another copy of the cd i chose from the prize warehouse: post-scarcity frequency collisions, 2010 noise & syrup premium.
i haven't listened to it yet, or any other premium,
but the packaging is something else!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:35pm
coelacanth∅:

...'looks (feels) like hand-made linoleum block prints?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:38pm
fred:

@coel: Oh boy, I have this one. It's a keeper. Listening to it is way better than looking at it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:39pm
coelacanth∅:

haha
Avatar 12:39pm
jeff-m:

glad you like it :))

yeah, i made like a 110 of them by hand. Got some beer and started working. Block printing and drawing. Wish i had taken a pic of them all now that i think of it. Pretty good example of my 'artwork'
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:40pm
coelacanth∅:

...i'm trying to figure out how i didn't get it in 2010
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:41pm
fred:

@GST: I know a guy who was part of a sound relative to OULIPO (Alain Lithaud). That movement didn't get anywhere, because herd of cats
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:42pm
coelacanth∅:

yeah i thought this is hand-written...and you put a little sticker of a cardinal (male) on it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:44pm
coelacanth∅:

i hope you made a few extra for yourself, and friends
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:45pm
coelacanth∅:

(and i'm wondering what the last few, after however many beers, turned out!)
Avatar 12:45pm
jeff-m:

think i saved 5 or so. Maybe have 2 left.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:49pm
Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

fred: as a chronic cat-herder, i can relate. but still, we enjoy the glorious chaos of those magick moments!
Avatar 12:49pm
jeff-m:

was a lot of fun actually. Glad you enjoyed it
Avatar 12:55pm
jeff-m:

oh, i reread your comment. Sorry all your stuff got stolen, Coel

Ken From Hyde Park:

Hiya, Jeff M and all. This is good music for being inert and avoiding the heat.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:02pm
fred:

I still don't believe a volunteer would steal from the station. I'd find it more likely that someone dropped the box, spilled the contents, kicked it away and reported it as damaged
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:05pm
doctorjazz:

Hi, Jeff-M
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:06pm

Glad to hear I'm not the only one that hates the heat

@Jeff: So do you have a pic of your premium art somewhere? Sounds cool!
Avatar 1:09pm
jeff-m:

hello Doctor
Avatar 1:11pm
jeff-m:

i don't think so, Jake. It's very amateur style i think you could say. Just was having fun
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:20pm
fred:

Great. I'm utterly tired, Jeff is on, and I managed to get myself into a management role. Just let me die
Avatar 1:22pm
jeff-m:

dying is overrated I heard
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:34pm
chresti:

please manage to not die, fred!
Avatar 1:39pm
jeff-m:

he got this. He just got all inspired by the 'funeral music' i played :P)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:47pm

Just on cue, I got into a Windows update cycle while I was doing laundry. Laundry is done (WFMU, WMRC and Afrirampo T-shirts this time). So textile is tamed
