Round those roses: "The Jaynetts were a later configuration of The Hearts, a girl group first formed in 1954 by producer and label owner Zell Sanders. Baby Washington was a member of The Hearts for a while, from 1957.

After numerous personnel changes and recordings, Zell Sanders teamed with producer Abner Spector and his wife Lona Stevens to produce Sally Go Round The Roses, financed by Chess Records and using a number of singers including members of The Hearts.

The Jaynetts were built around Johnnie Louise Richardson, daughter of Zell Sanders, who quit the group after Sally Go Round The Roses, the group's only hit."

Phillippe Bastille:

Speaking of Thanksgiving.. who is cooking what? I'm going to try to make fried stuffing balls. You get one of those ice cube trays that makes smaller ice cubes and freeze some gravy. You make a wetter stuffing, grab a handful of it, put a gravy ice cube in the middle, then form it into a ball and toss it in some hot oil. Not a big fried food guy, but the recipe sounds too good and creative to not at least try.

I'm probably just making sausage cheese balls and roasted root vegetable sides. Possibly the roasted brussels sprouts my wife always wants me to make.
  2:15pm
Mr. Nobody:

Going to need a big kitchen @Julie. With that many people sounds like making a drink may be what's on the menu.
Avatar 🦇 2:15pm
Julie:

with my family? ALWAYS
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 2:17pm
Phillippe Bastille:

@Mr Nobody roasted root veggies are my bride's specialty. I used to hate brussels sprouts until I started doing them with bacon and sea salt on the stove top.
  2:19pm
Mr. Nobody:

@Julie Lucky you. We usually wait for granny to go to bed before adult beverages come out. You know...Baptists don't drink. lol
Avatar 🦇 2:20pm
Julie:

you're weird in my family if you don't drink.
  2:22pm
Mr. Nobody:

@Phillippe same here growing up I hated them. I found a way that I love now. Slice in half and add some salt, pepper, pinch of chili powder, thin sliced garlic, soy sauce then toss. Coat a baking sheet and bake sliced side down for 15ish minutes around 350. They are tasty and super tender.
  2:23pm
Mr. Nobody:

@Julie I would say I'm just weird in my family but I think it is more appropriate to say I'm just weird.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 2:35pm
Phillippe Bastille:

I gave up alcohol in March and definitely don't fit in with my extended family and the bride's side. My mom and sister don't drink, but everyone else, well...
  2:37pm
John from Florham park:

As I rule I have one beer a week when I go to my sisters house for Sunday dinner
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 2:43pm
Phillippe Bastille:

@JFFP wish I could do that. With me, 1 beer is too many and 6 isn't enough, if you catch my meaning
Avatar 🦇 2:46pm
Julie:

I make one strong big drink and sip it while my sisters go through bottles of wine. Generally the more sober one in the room.
  2:47pm
John from Florham park:

@philiipe I sure do
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 2:48pm
Phillippe Bastille:

I'm guessing at my age (62) I pretty much drank the rest of your and JFFP's allotment (sorry! luckily they make more!)
  2:48pm
Mr. Nobody:

@Julie sometimes being the more sober one can be more fun and entertaining. Other times more frustrating.
Avatar 🦇 2:49pm
Julie:

indeed. The speed with which I drink it is determined by what's going on around me!
Avatar 🦇 2:50pm
Julie:

whatever happens thanksgiving, I will be here next week!
  2:52pm
Mr. Nobody:

Gotta find that sweet spot of good times then nurse your drink. I find it that way with me and bowling. There is a certain amount that is just right and I bowl better. If I go a frame with too few or two many sips that sweet spot slips away and my game gets worse.

Drinking and dealing with family feels the same way. lol
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 2:52pm
Phillippe Bastille:

@Mr. Nobody here to testify that not drinking has negatively impacted my enjoyment of sporting events. I have season tix for the Ravens and the # of assholes in the stands goes up as the clock winds down. Ravens/Steelrs was often obnoxious, I won't even go this year
