Just a reminder, probably unnecessary, from someone with a biology/medical background: soap is the thing that does the trick. “Sanitizing” lotions might be helpful when there’s no water available but soap bubbles are truly, instantly lethal to the little buggers. Hand sanitizers were always intended as an antibacterial measure.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:50pm

Didn't Cuomo, before we all fell in love with him, have Rikers prisoners put new labels on previously existing hand sanitizer bottles to rebrand?

  10:17pm
JakeGould:

@KenFromHydePark: I have been on the subway a few times since this began and honestly the rats are not aggressive but the hobos definitely are. In fact the “best” time to ride the subway is during non rush hours… You and maybe 1 or 2 hobos.

The place where the rats are more “bold” and coming out during daylight is near major restaurants that used to be a source of food for them. But they are mostly closed or reduced service. So the rats are just more brave in crossing streets and such. Not like they want to eat your feet or anything.

Less pigeons around. They might be flying off to whoever there’s better food.

So, Killing Eve is back. Haven't watched the new one all the way to the end yet, but it sure is great to see my favorite character Kenny. Really looking to full new season of Kenny bickering with his mom, trading pleasantries with his co-workers and helping out Eve. Yep, no two ways about it, this is going to be a big year for Kenny to come into his own.

Heya Nate. Sounding great!

FWIW, I did see something that crushed me a bit: Right in the heart of Park Slope I saw a woman and a man — not together and in two different places — rummaging through corner trash for food. Both young and both very hipster in dress; the sneakers were clean and their outfits were fine. But I can imagine they have a good reason for doing that… Sad to think that maybe in a month or so I will see them again and they will be more ragged from this stuff wearing on.

When the flagship Indianapolis new wave bar Crazy Al's closed there a big article in The Indianapolis Star in which the proprietors singled out Shoes as the most difficult act they had to deal with (the lack of the article The seemed a point of contention as I recall)

Yeah, Jake. We're going to need to reup this week. Sigh. Hoping the store has restocked, too. Ideally, they have 5 12-packs, which is the legit limit for what I can briefly stumble-carry, but it rounds out to three $20s and extends the time needed before more beer a while.
