Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 12:42pm

I love how in French prosody a terminal "e" can be voiced if the meter requires it. I hear that in songs all the time.
  12:43pm
Dean:

You say lingerie, I say lasagna. Let's call the whole thing off.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 12:44pm
Handy Haversack:

Lingerie lasagna. Lasagna lingerie. Either could be a big hit!
  12:44pm
Dean:

I'm not always clear when one is supposed to elide the terminal s in a French word when it's followed by a word beginning with a vowel.
Avatar 12:45pm
Sylvia (France-NYC):

@Dean you pronounced it as a z with the following vowel, it's called "la liaison"

@Rev I listened to all of the *free lessons offered on Coffee Break French. I found that listening to season 1 e.g., 2-3 years after original airing, made some idioms outdated.
Coffee break series briefly did '1 minute' episodes of less typically available language lessons. Coffee break Flemish was one. I learned to count to 10, introduce myself, polite niceties, and then they stopped.

Watership Down is very naturalistic for a fantasy. One of the best depictions of the hill country of the English countryside. And you actually come to care about the plight about the rabbits and their lives.
