	10:31am YETI BOB: @Handy: The Kankakee River was lovely, wide, gentle current. Seemed very clean and unpolluted. The water was very low in a few spots, we waded and dragged the boat through a few spots. Interesting geology, a few very small rapids. We were out all day, had a great time.

	10:36am YETI BOB: We locked up a bicycle at the endpoint, drove back to the start (10 miles), and paddled to the bike. I waited with the boat while she rode back to the van. But she decided that instead of riding along the state highway, she'd try the bike paths ... which didn't really go all the way through and she wound up getting a bit lost in subdivisions. It all turned out fine but I started to get a bit nervous waiting, there was no cell phone signal and I started imagining the worst. It was starting to get dark when I saw the headlights of our old van coming up the road, with great relief.

	10:41am YETI BOB: Mugwort (Artemesia vulgaris) contains thujone, the same chemical that caused Absinthe to be banned. It's been used since medieval times as a potion, and to repel insects. You can go ahead and sniff it all day, but don't eat or drink too much of it, thujone is somewhat toxic.

	10:31am YETI BOB: @Handy: The Kankakee River was lovely, wide, gentle current. Seemed very clean and unpolluted. The water was very low in a few spots, we waded and dragged the boat through a few spots. Interesting geology, a few very small rapids. We were out all day, had a great time.

	10:36am YETI BOB: We locked up a bicycle at the endpoint, drove back to the start (10 miles), and paddled to the bike. I waited with the boat while she rode back to the van. But she decided that instead of riding along the state highway, she'd try the bike paths ... which didn't really go all the way through and she wound up getting a bit lost in subdivisions. It all turned out fine but I started to get a bit nervous waiting, there was no cell phone signal and I started imagining the worst. It was starting to get dark when I saw the headlights of our old van coming up the road, with great relief.

	10:41am YETI BOB: Mugwort (Artemesia vulgaris) contains thujone, the same chemical that caused Absinthe to be banned. It's been used since medieval times as a potion, and to repel insects. You can go ahead and sniff it all day, but don't eat or drink too much of it, thujone is somewhat toxic.
