Mr. Oxford:

Good Morning all. Just came back from a walk outdoors during which I saw a hedgehog timidly crossing the street to go from one tree to another. This show is fitting in the aftermath of witnessing that.

p-90 - why did they spell it cock burn on the birth certificate then?
  7:39am
P-90:

Remember Bruce is from Canada and you know how dangerous they can be when crossed. Better call Saul and warn him.
  7:40am
The Butterman:

Morning Micah, no animal sacrifice or goat worship sex cult music this morning? No? Too bad.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:40am
micah:

actually from now on im gonna pronounce it Cawk-burn. like oh my gawd my cawk is on fi-yuh
Avatar 7:40am
HyperDose:

@Alan Love stories like that. Would have been cool to see the rifles go to a local museum, but 20 grand is nothing to sneeze at. I'd take the cash too!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:43am
dale:

pretty sure there's no rifle museum in caldwell.
  7:44am
P-90:

It’s a name of Scottish origin originally referencing either overcooked roosters or symptoms of syphilis. Or both.
  7:45am
The Butterman:

Hyperdose, The Gun Museum where we celebrate one of human beings greatest inventions. Tickets to the special show on the assault rifle are NOT included with your admission and require timed entry ticket. First one hundred visitors get a bone or shrapnel fragment.
Oh you just meant a local history type museum. Sorry.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:47am
dave wuz here:

lucky me , i've got a kinky jew
Avatar 7:48am

Wish I knew what an "assault" rifle was. Walked in to a gun store, asked for one, and they said there was no such thing. *scratches head*
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:48am
Dano59:

wow, haven't heard the Kinkajou song in ages. Sure doesn't sound like Bob from Sesame St. though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:50am
The Spoony:

Good morning to my favorite animals!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:51am
Dano59:

Went to an event at an Amish country store in Pa. yesterday. Two of the raffle prizes were guns. (.22s, suitable for keeping varmints out of the garden, I guess)
Avatar 7:54am
HyperDose:

The black bear population in PA is massive
  7:56am
The Butterman:

Euphemism Hyperdose. We only sell high quality, high velocity, metal projectile throwing self defense devices that don’t kill people. People kill people. And robots.
My bad. I don’t mean to write about any sensitive issues that will illicit controversy on the board. I was just making a stupid joke about stoopid mass death machines that our world is obsessed with.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:56am
dale:

this is like deep purple. only less deep. but it's still purple.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:56am

Good Morning everyone!! Thanks for filling in Micah!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:57am
Dano59:

Hunting is necessary for animal population control, but assault rifles are not part of that equation and neither is a god-given right.
  8:00am
The Butterman:

Cue up War Pigs and let’s move on.
Avatar 8:01am
TDK60:

Dano - I've heard that, if we let animal predators come back, and stop shooting them as they do to wolves out West, a more natural cycle will come back.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:05am
dale:

hunting should be allowed for human population control. that was an abc movie of the week too.
  8:06am
The Butterman:

I just saw part of a doc about animals at night that used special cameras. Well, the animals didn’t use the special camera, that woulda been AMAZING. The film makers used the special camera. Anyway, night vision of vampire bats flying and scuttling around on the ground and hopping up into fur seals to suck their neck and back blood- was one of the nastiest thing I’ve seen. Creepy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:07am
dave wuz here:

i once got a lift from pine grove PA to harrisburg from a guy who worked for PA fish and game. he spent the whole ride telling me about hunting accidents he had writen up. a lowlight was two brothers who turkey called to each other and somehow shot each other full of pellets 100 yards from their car.
Avatar 8:08am
HyperDose:

Boston Dynamics are the real threat to society. Boycott robots and replace them with nocturnal animals!

This is now momentarily like having Jeffrey back on Saturdays
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:08am
melinda:

Morning everyone
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:08am
Dano59:

could very well be true, @TDK. But bias/fears/ignorance of predators' rightful place in the ecosystem continues to work against the natural order. (see: sheep farmers)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:11am
micah:

P-90 thats a huge compliment I loved Jeffs show

@Dano59: as an aside, much of the "hunting" that goes on is "sport" hunting.

I understand protection of livestock (disclosure: I hunted for years in NJ, whitetail deer & I used every part of the animal if I killed one).

As for reports I hear in places in semi rural PA (where I live) about bear problems....it's human problems not bears.

I've lived in the woods for 28 years, had two incidents where a bear got into my garbage.

The first (around 2000-2001)
and one a few weeks ago.
Both my fault.

I rinse ALL of my trash & recyclables that could attract bears & other scavengers.

The one incident recently was when I forgot to rinse some shrimp shells before discarding them.

Humans are lazy and in many cases absolute pigs when it comes to trash & will always blame the animals who are only trying to survive in a world that we are rapidly destroying.
