It should be. I've been saying this for years -- especially if you're a new band: PUT YOUR BEST SONG FIRST. Don't make impatient people hunt for your genius in a world that's overclogged with mediocrity.

Ha! I don't even know if that's a real term, but years ago an old GF and I went to see Nine Pound Hammer at Maxwell's and the crowd was all bikers and their girlfriends, whom she dubbed "Raven ladies" because of the severe eye makeup and fringe-festooned suede jackets. The name stuck.

I know, right? And there is ZERO evidence of this record online, outside of some WFMU playlists. The person who recorded it also goes by "DJ Female Convict Scorpion" and years ago, I tracked down an email address for them and asked about getting a copy. They replied and said I could get one for five bucks. They mailed it out and then sent the invoice -- and charged me 25 dollars for shipping (from California). Alas... still a great record on which they also cover Hall and Oates, the Descendents, Black Flag, and Motorhead.

I just picked that record up recently. Didn't know what it was, but I am a big Rosko fan so glad I threw down the 3 bucks.
