I did like it when an interviewer asked him if they (GD) might cover White Punks on Dope and Vince said something like, if Jerry wants to wear the huge oversized prop shoes then they could go for it. I think Vince was probably responsible for GD covering Baba O Riley in the encores (With a little tease of Tomorrow Never Knows thrown in).

Skip into the meat of the set and they are great. RP voice is best 69-72 but there are some great 73, 75 moments too.

	12:52pm beedee: LZ Southampton UK 1973 is a good one. Playing the cafeteria or some such venue at a university. Very loose. Good stage patter. Giving a little extra encore. There is a northwest US show or 2 and Vancouver, BC in 73 and also 75 that really shine. Shame that 1972 is not well represented in shiny clean board tapes. That is the height of RP voice before the change.

I was standing on the side of the stage with a few roadies, closest to Welnick. He made a show of lining up joints on his keyboard, smoking them one by one and flicking them, half-lit, across the stage or into the crowd. One landed at my feet, still smoldering. I looked at it, then at Welnick. He smiled and nodded; the guy next to me elbowed me and said, "Hey, pick that up!" Since it was the 80s, I grabbed it and took a toke, then gave it to Elbow Guy. He and they really knew how to put on a live show. Great frontman Fee. Props, costumes, skits, visuals, audio, big rock sound for a stadium. Good time

SAVAK returns for their record-setting (not yet verified by Guinness) FIFTH appearance on The Evan “Funk” Davies Show! The Brooklyn band has just released their seventh LP, SQUAWK!, and 2025 also marks the 10th anniversary of the band’s formation. Once again Evan "Funk" Davies will be spinning classic dance and disco jams from the mid-70s to the early '80s, along with some new-to-you nuggets. The beat will be turned around, your whistle will be blown, and your body will be shaken down to the ground!

It’s Family Band Wednesday! Secret Monkey Weekend, from Durham NC, will play some songs from their latest album Lemon Drop Hammer which was produced by Don Dixon and has won praise from the likes of Peter Holsapple (The dB’s), Vanessa Briscoe Hay (Pylon), and many others.
Secret Monkey Weekend’s tour mates The Prof. Fuzz 63 are no strangers to WFMU, and they’ll play live today as well! Their latest LP is my <3's still beatin' but i'm DEAD2U. They’ll both be at Finnegan’s in Hoboken on August 14.
Wed. Aug 20th, Noon - 3pm: Live sets from Silver Synthetic and Ultra Lights (More info...)
New Orleans band Silver Synthetic released their second album Rosalie earlier this year on Curation Records, run by Brent Rademaker of Beachwood Sparks. The match-up makes perfect sense, as does the band’s mention of Jack Cooper’s current project Modern Nature as an influence.
Ultra Lights have released a string of singles on the venerable Chunklet Industries label, now collected on an EP. The Atlanta band is on the heavier and angstier end of the indie rock spectrum, with some proto-punk and classic rock thrown in for good measure.
