It's currently banned, but some folks are trying to overturn the ban and start mining uranium there. There's a lot of risk having so much radioactive material in an area prone to rainstorms, occasional hurricanes and the rare earthquake.

Iran was left no choice to expand its production of nuclerar materials to the twenty percent range until the US Embargo cut them off from nuclear medicine. Unintended consequences.
