Ahoy Evan and all!
  9:10pm
JakeGould:

@RevRabbit: It’s a Julian Cope collab from the early, early days, “Echo & the Bunnymen's debut single "The Pictures on My Wall" was released on Bill Drummond & David Balfe's Zoo Records in May 1979, the B-side being the McCulloch/Cope collaboration "Read It in Books" (also recorded by The Teardrop Explodes approximately six months later as the B-side of their final Zoo Records single "Treason"). McCulloch has subsequently denied that Cope had any involvement with the writing of this song on more than one occasion.”

'Crocodiles' was 1 of the 1st "cool" lps I ever acquired, based solely on a good review in Rolling Stone (!) My much older sister had to go to New Haven to procure for me, quite a big deal.

I love that band Thundermug! Evan, how do you do that?

Yay, WFMU book club! (I've yet to start the Stiff Records book, but it is near at hand.)

"Evan'sTheme"! I actually remember that one. Yeah, Dave the Spazz's interview with Tommy James was primo, I was just recently thinking I should go back and revisit it in the archives. Highly recommended if anyone missed it the first time!

LAST CUT BACKWARDS I HAVE STRONG FEELINGS ABOUT THIS
  10:39pm
JakeGould:

FEELINGS!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:39pm
Stevel:

Last cut backwards is helpful when dealing with listeners distracted by the intake of various stimulants.

(Nothing more than feelings.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:40pm
Ike:

YES, @Holly! I'm a backwards-back-announcing partisan. Always back-announce starting with the LAST track and GO BACK FROM THERE. That way if somebody tunes in part of the way through and is operating heavy machinery, having sex, or doing something else precluding checking the playlist, they can count back and figure out which track was which.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:40pm
coelacanth:

last cut; back. anything else is a severe ass pain for folks who want to note a song and are listening the old-fashioned way.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:41pm
Stevel:

I hardly ever check the playlist during sex.
Avatar 10:41pm
Danne D:

My exception regarding the last cut back rule is Steinski - he did it forward but it was so beautifully done it worked :)

For those who don't know...my gallbladder burst Monday morning. It felt like I was simultaneously being stabbed and set on fire.
Avatar 10:48pm

I wouldn't make love with someone who'd mind if we counted back to figure out a cool song. But I mean really, ideally love = vinyl. Or waves.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:53pm
coelacanth:

wait! excuse me; i know you're just about to climax, but i need to count back as the dj goes over his set.

Avatar 11:01pm

They had to old-school slice me open to get mine out, hence the staples. The surgeon said it was turning gangrenous before it burst. He said he's never seen a gallbladder in as bad of shape as mine.
