Just caught a few seconds of Patti... That was still better than most people's lifetime output.

Hi Therese! Hope you're doing fine tonight. =)

Hello Therese , Horses ,, one of my faves of all ,, everything even,, and I see we got some 45's . sing it soul sister .. yea !
  12:25am
JakeGould:

So are these record fair scores?
Avatar 12:25am
Therese:

@JakeGould- Most of them are, yes!
Avatar 12:35am
BadGuyZero:

Pretty much any Lene Lovich record for two bucks is a steal.
  12:36am
JakeGould:

Your pain getting to Brooklyn from Jersey City? Now you know my pain when I go to Jersey City from Brooklyn. What a country!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:38am
Tome:

aww bummer Therese ,, would have taken the E @ 34 Penn. station from the Path to 23st queens for the G ,, SS ! ( after the fact I know ),
Avatar 12:41am
BadGuyZero:

I bet Julie listened to all four of those Suzi CDs yesterday.
Avatar 12:42am
Therese:

Tome- that would have involved detouring through Hoboken, which would have been much more annoying.
  12:46am
JakeGould:

Another idea: Take the Path to WTC, then the R to 9th Street and 4th Avenue. Then do a free transfer up to the G train. And there you go.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:46am
Tome:

yes you're correct ,, ( the song just said it ) :( ahh yes only weekday direct "yellow" line from Journal Sq to 33rd.. not on weekend or nights ..
Avatar 12:47am

hi Therese
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47am
Tome:

... good thing about the E to 23rd ely ave ( court sq on the G ) only 2 stops to Greenpoint ave !
  12:48am
JakeGould:

Hoboken tangent: I’m always amazed at the casual wear of the new breed of Hoboken residents. Everyone is going on some Financial District booze cruise it seems.
  12:49am
JakeGould:

On the PATH I mean. That is where I see those Hoboken folks.
Avatar 12:49am
Therese:

This is starting to resemble a mass-transit version of SNL's "The Californians" sketches!
  12:50am
sugarwolf:

Hi hi hi
  12:50am
JakeGould:

Yeah, take the one thing to the other thing, then get the third thing, say hi to my bud Chad then get back on the fourth thing and there you go!
  12:51am
rw:

Therese, you need another box on the playlist for Record Fair Score.

Was just thinking that about "The Californians". As a So. Cal. resident your conversation sounds oddly familiar.

Dancing time yes /\\\/\/\\\/\/\\\
  12:53am

too much dancing, not enough prancing
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54am
the Canterbury wood-elf:

It's DJ Stashu's unofficial theme song (The Gentry's version, that is)
Avatar 12:54am

Dancing and Prancing are my favorite of Santa's reindeer.

Nice use of a Yoda quote by a member of Superchunk.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:01am

got Mac McCaughan 5-14 @ Monty Hall & Fleshwounds > bit.ly...

fun fact: Yoda, Fozzy Bear and Mac from superchunk are all voiced by Frank Oz

Hydra is one of the few organizations in the Marvel Universe whose name isn't an acronym.
  1:10am
JakeGould:

The mythical hydra is a three headed thingamadoodle.
  1:14am
JakeGould:

Correction, a multi-headed thing. So the Hydra in Marvel comics is a multi-tentacled thing with it’s tentacles all over the place.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:20am
Ken From Hyde Park:

@Jake - Yeah, you might have been thinking of Cerberus, the three-headed monster guarding the entrance of the Greek underworld.
Avatar 1:21am
BadGuyZero:

If Hydra was going after farmers their name could be an acronym for How You Destroy Rural America.
Avatar 1:22am
BadGuyZero:

How You Destroy Rural America could be the name of a This Will Destroy You country side project.
  1:22am
MONEYBAG$:

Hydra in Marvel comics is a rip off of SPECTRE from James Bond
Avatar 1:23am

MONEYBAG$ is correct. Ten points to Ravenclaw.

  1:29am
MONEYBAG$:

I don't think it really is an acronym, it's a play on the SPECTRE logo being an octopus(?)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:30am
Ken From Hyde Park:

They'll soon take over the words "Stay hydrated," leaving Dave Hill to use another catch phrase.
Avatar 1:32am
BadGuyZero:

Stay hydrated is an acronym???
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:34am
Ken From Hyde Park:

Google has a doodle for today www.google.com... and is also posting the phrase "May the fourth be with you." <Barf!>
  1:35am

@Ken: You want to be friends with me? Don’t talk like a pirate on that talk like a pirate day and do not ever say “May the fourth be with you!”

There's so much French in tonight's playlist I thought it was July 14.
Avatar 2:00am

JakeGould:

Now I want french fries.

I pretty much always want french fries.

BadGuyZero:

Who has two thumbs, speaks limited French, and wants french fries?

:points at self: THIS MOI!
  2:26am
JakeGould:

@Therese: I quit soda last week. 100% cold. Rewarded myself with a Five Guys Burger and Fries. Only felt nauseous for 45 minutes afterwards instead of the usual next 3-4 hours. Quitting soda works!
  2:27am
JakeGould:

That reward was yesterday for perspective.
Avatar 2:34am
BadGuyZero:

I bought a Sodastream a few weeks ago so I can make all the fizzy water I want!
  2:36am

@BadGuyZero: All the fizzy water not in your pants you mean.

No "wizards' in Dune. Don't go by any of the movies.

There's a metal band in Dallas called The House Harkonnen.

Ken From Hyde Park:

I started avoiding soda as well. Part of my campaign to avoid high fructose corn syrup as much as possible. Why does bread need to have corn syrup in it? Blech!
  2:38am
JakeGould:

Sting is in Dune.
Avatar 2:39am
BadGuyZero:

It could be a reference to the Sean Connery movie "Outland" [which was basically a sci-fi remake of "High Noon"].
  2:40am
JakeGould:

@Ken: I actually ditched as much HFCS as possible a few years back. The soda thing is the 1 “good” soda per day I gave myself a pass on. Once I ditched that suddenly my sleep is 8 hours straight and my slight bloat is gone. I sound like a hippie.
Avatar 2:41am
Therese:

Sean Connery? Also Scottish.
  2:47am
P-90:

Sean C.: indeed Scots, no doubt
Avatar 2:47am
BadGuyZero:

It's a fact!
  2:54am
JakeGould:

“Outland” was—and is—a horrible movie.
Avatar 2:55am
BadGuyZero:

I haven't seen it since it first ran on cable.
Avatar 2:57am
BadGuyZero:

I recall 12-/13-year-old me liking the first 10-15 minutes and then I grew bored with it.

Anyway, wonderful show as always, Therese. Have a lovely week, folks. =)
