Hi, Therese. How was your week? Fine weather, as long as you're pollen tolerant and thus able to get out and enjoy it.

Hello! FWIW, the Mr. Do machine in Jersey City is much nicer than the one in Chelsea.

I'll have what Sigurður's having - but only 1/2 as much (it's late here)...
- I wish this show was what 'Pop Music' meant in the big mean world outside...
  12:20am
JakeGould:

@RR63: The thing is as long as the kids like digging up “vynils” and like the music, there is hope. Actually saw a 12 year old kid get excited at 1980s singles at a flea market this weekend.

Gaylord is thankfully not a creep like Calvin Johnson.
Avatar 12:36am

What is the opposite of a creep? Because that's what Gaylord is.
  12:36am

Gaylord is a peerc, tnen? Or maybe a crépe.
  12:37am
P-90:

"Anti-Creep"?
  12:37am

I meant crêpe.

I've never met GF, only heard him on the radio but I'm going with mensch.

And personally I feel a little more creepy every day.

"The opposite of a creep", the most flattering phrase to describe someone that contains the word "creep."

It used to be a that a jukebox contained a couple hundred records. Your choices were limited, a bar's personality was partly defined by what was on the box. Now most places have Internet boxes, it's not the same.

Folks, not making crêpes at 1:00am. Just eat a plate of fries like normal people.

The Devo Barrier is the sequel to Super Breakout.
  2:11am
JakeGould:

Therese, that roller skating in the apartment is pretty hardcore. Mayes me want to practice tuba in my place. And I don’t even know how to play tuba.
  2:12am
P-90:

Proof of the D-Barrier would support the validity of the Quantum Inseparabilty Principle (QuIP).
Avatar 2:13am
Therese:

Go for the Sousaphone- that adds the marching band element.
  2:13am

“The Devo Barrier” is a staright to DVD film with Sam Neill. He passes through the Devo barrier and all he can see is satan and Booji boy at his knee.

I’m thinking of being Chuck Mangione next Halloween. That flugelhorn made him feel so good, so why not me?

Have you considered being Chuck's brother, Gap Mangione, for Halloween? You're gonna see other Chucks out there trick-or-treating, but Gap is more esoteric, you could work with Gap and really make him your own.

Mind the “Gap”, P-90. Chuck Mangione 4 ever.

JakeGould:

Someone should start a “Skirt Shed” to revive the “Dress Barn” aesthetic for modern tastes.
  2:41am
rw:

Weird. I know nobody cares, but I received an email ad from Metal Postcard about three seconds before Therese said the words, "Metal Postcard".

Dress Barn sounds like an unappealing place to shop.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:41am

you need a dress for that ho-down next week.

Hedwig was physically assaulted at a Dress Barn. That was the explanation given for why Hedwig was wearing a leg brace during the final weeks of John Cameron Mitchell's most recent run as Hedwig.

  2:50am

Crazy Eddie’s generally had a decent record department. All of the gear that falls off of the truck needs something to pad the carton. Why not tons of cut out albums?
  2:51am
JakeGould:

@P-90: There is a Freudian Slip shop in Oregon. www.shopfreudianslip.com

Wow! How can this be true???
Avatar 2:57am

If I recall correctly that "Archie Bunker's Place" finale only aired on the East Coast. There was such an immediate uproar that it was pulled before it could air on the West Coast.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:00am

in the early 80s i went to crazy eddie's record dep't. and there was the guy i'd seen the prior weekend acting like a lunatic & smashing a watermelon over his head at the dirt club and he was embarrassed & said it was just a job meanwhile i thought his group was pretty rad anyway he copped an attitude forever so fuck him.
