Vi Kan Inte Stoppas means You Can't Stop us Now. I racall Kristy McNichol's character in Family as being incredibly unpleasant. "Curry? Lamb AND yogurt! Double Yuck!" In the 70s the band Family as much better than the TV show.

The band Family is awesome Larry

worriers; another band that sounds like Blink-182! Maybe that's not such a bad thing...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:05pm

if Worriers sound like Blink 182 then I think I'm going to need to re-evaluate my opinion of Blink 182.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:06pm
efd:

Definitely possible, Uncle Michael - I saw them in NYC around that time, maybe a year or two later. They were definitely putting records out in the late '70s.

Apropos to Kristy McNichol, man did I have an elementary school crush on her back in the 1970s.

Enjoying the show, EFD. Son's first baseball practice was today. I'm one of the coaches. Kids call me Coach C. Coaches call me Coach Kale, due to my vegan/"rabbit-food-eating tendencies." I like it!

@clintonhensley: Did you hear that the “Coach” reboot was cancelled when execs saw the pilot and realized… “Wait! This is a ‘Coach’ reboot.” And Craig T. Nelson got paid for all proposed 13 episodes even though they will never be filmed because dude was the “Coach.”

Greetings Danne D!

Ice, you'll have to report back next week and let us know how the L7 show was. Saw them a few times back in the day and they were always great.

  11:37pm
JakeGould:

2113? That is one year past 2112. Whoa!
  11:37pm
clinton hensley:

@ JakeGould - I don't have cable. Not because I'm an elitist - but simply due to being a poor musician. And Magnum P.I. rules. Case closed. Hey, Evan. ;) Dokken! No one will no the difference at this point.
  11:38pm
clinton hensley:

And no one will know that I'm grammatically stunted at this point.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:39pm
efd:

I had a hunch you would agree, Uncle Michael.
  11:39pm
JakeGould:

@cheri: “Magnum P.I.” is classic T.V. from the 1980s. Which character is your fave? Thomas Sullivan Magnum IV (Magnum)? Theodore Calvin (T.C.)? Orville Wilbur Richard "Rick" Wright (Rick)? Jonathan Quayle Higgins III (Higgins)? Mine is T.C. i like his lifestyle of owning and flying a cool helicopter on tours of the Hawaiian islands.
  11:40pm
JakeGould:

@clintonhensley: Your grammar is fine with me.
  11:40pm
clinton hensley:

T.C., Indeed!
  11:42pm
JakeGould:

@clintonhensley: T.C. gets to see all kinds of cool places, is never really caught up in the nonsense the others have and is always respected. I love the guy… Except for his Vietnam War PTSD. Yeesh. That is a cool/dark subplot aspect of the whole show… They are all Vietnam vets who never dealt with their PTSD.
  11:42pm
clinton hensley:

Thanks, Jake. My aunt was an English teacher and she traumatized me.
  11:43pm
JakeGould:

@clintonhensley: I was told I had a “gutter mouth” in 4th grade because I cursed in class despite knowing how to spell and form sentences so hey.
  11:43pm
cheri:

on that note, i have to check out for real, efd! jake i'll comment on that more tomorrow. see you next week again, efd
  11:45pm
JakeGould:

@cheri: I hope you can learn how to appreciate “Magnum P.I.” Maybe you can login and create an avatar based on the show after you learn the joy of the show.

Alex of Chicago:

As a kid, I just couldn't get past the mustache. And the fake Ferrari. But I wasn't that smart at the time, or now.
  11:48pm
JakeGould:

@AlexofChicago: Those were not fake Ferraris! They were all real, Ferrari 308 GTS’s. Stop spreading lies on the Internet!
  11:50pm
clinton hensley:

@ Jake - Wait, are we talking about the A-team and Howling Mad Murdoch? And, I hear you - my brother taught me how to curse my french teacher out on the first day of 9th grade, when he was a senior, but he didn't tell me what I ws saying. What a dick! Ha!
  11:53pm
JakeGould:

@clintonhensley: That’s funny. Reminds me of me being in a school assembly between two kids fighting in 5th grade. One tells me, “Tell him his mother is a huuah!” I say, “What?” and he says it again… So I turn to the kid next to me and say, “He said your mother is a huaaah?” And the kid shuts up and slowly cries. He was telling me to tell that kid his mother was a “whore” (“huaahhh” in a Brooklyn accent). And the kid was crying because his mother indeed was a whore. So hey! I learned something new!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:53pm
Alex of Chicago:

I was wrong. But 308's, pfft. :)
  11:54pm
JakeGould:

So now “Cold Beat” sounds a bit like “Blondie” and a few days ago I thought they sounded like the “Go Gos”. My ears are playing nostalgic tricks on me.
