	7:42pm hyde: i told this story last night at the Bodega, but on Tuesday night I slept with a down comforter and had to shut the one window i left open at 3 am because i was freezing. and now it's 90. it's the lack of transition that's getting to me.

	7:54pm Flash Strap: I hope you do! I loved that record during that same year of life, and I love it to this day
	7:57pm hyde: hmmm, maybe i need to try it again. i loved it then, didn't listen to it for like 25 years and took it out from the library, and thought it sounded kinda bad. but that was some tie ago. maybe it's gotten better in the interim.

	8:02pm Flash Strap: it is sort of bad Hyde, almost unbearably so in parts, but I have great affection for it. and there are a few passages that really are top-notch in terms of prog's baroque, grand, silliness

	8:07pm hyde: yes! the analog LP and booklet are great. tho it's funny how some stuff ages well with you and some doesn't. i still sure love the Herbie Hancock Headhunters record that i loved then. those first couple Mahavishnu Orchestra records still sound great. the Oregon and Weather Report records? not so much. at least now. but maybe the latter will sound good to me again in 20 years. who can say.

	8:40pm Little Danny: I watched J & the Argonauts after ingesting a review of it online that was convincingly enthusiastic. I'm now wondering if I read it at yer website, Flash. Did you write about it?
	8:41pm hyde: oh, i totally root for the skeletons. i also root for the Talos statue--i mean, Hera says t take nothing but food and water, and Jason steals that brooch. jerk.

Seems weird now that I'm saying it @C: it's a really hilarious part of the movie that the guy who plays Jason is a total colossal dud and it makes it impossible to sympathize with his idiotic choices, unlike say Odysseus, who is unforgivable in every way but tends to project charisma that helps you get in on his adventure from his point of view. It's a feature of Argonauts though, not a bug

	8:55pm hyde: @Flash the guy who played Jason (Todd Armstrong) was actually a rich kid who tried to become an actor and failed, became a gardener, and then got a screen test because he worked for the woman who played the mother on the Dennis the Menace TV show. But his voice in the Argonauts film is dubbed by another actor. He was never in much else (soe tv and a film of two) and eventually shot himself after getting addicted to painkillers. It's a classic Hollywood story!

Seems weird now that I'm saying it @C: it's a really hilarious part of the movie that the guy who plays Jason is a total colossal dud and it makes it impossible to sympathize with his idiotic choices, unlike say Odysseus, who is unforgivable in every way but tends to project charisma that helps you get in on his adventure from his point of view. It's a feature of Argonauts though, not a bug

But his voice in the Argonauts film is dubbed by another actor. He was never in much else (soe tv and a film of two) and eventually shot himself after getting addicted to painkillers. It's a classic Hollywood story!
