Hi Jeff and all you Outliers!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:12am
Jeff Golick:

Ahoy-hoy, @Stanely and @doctorjazz!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:16am
Stanley:

This Subotnick is pretty far out, especially given the year it was recorded.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:18am
Jeff Golick:

Yup. Hard to imagine how this lands on the ears of 1967.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:22am
doctorjazz:

? How'd you like the Halverson Octet, Jeff? Got there last night... What a front line! What an odd pairing, her Guild hollow body and her music...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:23am
doctorjazz:

Cool that she sold out the Vanguard..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:25am
Jeff Golick:

I thought they sounded great, @doctorjazz, and was similarly pleased to see so many folks there. Impressed by Ches Smith. I only wished there were more solo spots for Mary...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:25am
Jeff Golick:

(Will be playing something by that band later on, btw.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:29am
Jeff Golick:

There's a Subotnik doc in the works, looks like: www.indiegogo.com... - I think, though fully funded, one can still support this venture?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:29am
doctorjazz:

True, Mary got one big unaccompanied spot with an electronic echo to open one tune, but gave all the rest of the solo time to the band. Ches Smith is a monster, as were they all. Pedal steel didn't get much feature at my set either.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:30am
Brian in UK:

Hello Jeff and early risers.

Could never shift the idea that it was Milton not Morton.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:30am
Jeff Golick:

Susan Alcorn (pedal steel) got a showcase for a major freakout in the last tune we heard.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:31am

Afternoon, @Brian in UK!

Hello Jeff and D:O people. I'm clumsily trying to deal with a new computer and a plumbing emergency here, so comments might be limited

19th birthday today for my younger daughter, have some friends that slept over (headphone time). Cundy really pretty.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:53am

@fred! New computer (yay?) and plumbing emergency (oy!), that's a lot to deal with -- thanks for checking in, and good luck on all fronts.

Good morning outsters.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:54am

Happy 19th to your daughter, @doctorjazz.

Mornin', @melinda!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:00am
fred:

Well, the old computer is over 12 years old, and looks like it would really act up as a teenager. The new one requires a lot of attention (not everything is up and running yet) and that cuts into my sleeping hours
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:03am
Stanley:

Aw, I popped out to the corner shop and missed the Roots Magic track. Judging by the cover, it looks like some very weird (but good) shit.

Hey, @davefromtoronto! Thanks for being here!

Sorry, @Stanley! Was a pretty faithful rendition of a lovely Marion Brown tune. Not so weird (but good).

Hi Brian. Stuff of nightmares but hey, they should get it while I still got it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:28am

Very enjoyable set this.

OK, pipe unclogged, dealing with the messy aftermath now. Of today the heat of the past few days is nowhere to be found. I deserve a break though
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:34am
doctorjazz:

Bit of a challenge,,, little Maxie has sort have gotten the hang of the leash, but doesn't have a clue what she's supposed to "do" on the walk. We have a yard, she used that mostly. Cute when she starts running around in circles, though. We have her for another month, then she'll keep my daughter company in college.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:35am
doctorjazz:

How goes it with your puppy, @Jeff?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:39am

@doctorjazz: is your daughter who just turned 19 the one who did the Sister Act show?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:39am
doctorjazz:

New Uri Caine, nice!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:42am
Jeff Golick:

We're getting there. Still have the occasional accident at home, but his "leash manners" are really pretty good. Have even taken him to the park for "off-leash" time, which makes me nervous (will he come back?) but which he really seems to love.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:44am
doctorjazz:

@Fred, good memory! (or I blabber too much...). No, she's my older daughter, 24, who's in Kentucky right now in a production of Disney's Tarzan. It's at a lovely theater, the Jenny Willey Theatre. She keeps telling us, "they really speak like that down here..."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:46am
doctorjazz:

We have a fenced in back yard (a neighbor with a dog left their's open to ours), so we have a decent roaming space for off leash. Ozzie I'd trust off leash (I let him off when we walk to a nearby baseball field, when there's no game, natch), but I wouldn't trust Maxie at all, happy if she just walks with me on leash.
