hello hello! I was starting to worry that the Internet was broken!
  9:07pm
JakeGould:

It kinda broke last night when my friends were either talking about that stupid speech or the guy who licked a doorbell for 3 hours.

Gary Olson song is great! I saw a Ladybug T cd at thrift, didn't buy (ugh!). Anyway, I thought Robert Forster? Esp since he's gonna release a record.

Robin Eisgrau:

Awesome show as usual Evan! loved the glammy opening trax and the nod to Ian Dury.

More than a little Go Betweens feel to that Gary Olson.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:55pm
chris_in_space:

@efd, great to hear about the upcoming interview with Chris O’Leary. Over the years, I've read some great books based on your author interviews. I'm betting this will be no different.

EFD has good taste.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:59pm
Alex of Chicago:

I'm working, so can't comment much, but loving this set. Creepy Everly Brothers is my thing, but all the rest as well.

Ken From Hyde Park:

I've always wondered, is Union Pool a place with a swimming pool or billiards?
  11:06pm
morphe:

Normally heard you after 3pm (198?)NYC in the backroom of Barnes&Noble(18st).
Just awoke to your theme tune in my freezing attic in Madrid(0501CET) and thought I was in B&N
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:11pm
nickybones:

@Ken From Hyde Park: neither! but, it does have a taco truck.
  11:13pm
JakeGould:

@morphe: Now that is a memory!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:13pm
efd:

ha, that's funny morphe!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:14pm
efd:

I think Union Pool was previously a (swimming) pool business, hence the name?
  11:19pm
morphe:

chris_in_space: you must find the film"Robinson in Space"
a genuine SITUATIONIST Derivee around Defoe's England.
Does anyone out there know the "Situatioinsts" Guy Debord, Vaneigman..
the "derives" or the "Detourment" ??? Worth finding at your Local Anarchist Bookshop: SITUATIONIST ANTHOLOGY [title] is a good starting point
  11:23pm
morphe:

Jake: Just woke up because it is 0500 in Madrid...Do you not rest? Must be the Cod Liver Oil??? Great Scot song: "Cod Liver Oil and the Orange Juice" Granny's would sneak it into juice.. Mothers rammed it down the throat!!

Woot. Just here for a visit. Thanks for the tickets to Union Pool Friday night and flashbacks to my late night ticket winning when I first moved to NYC back in 1985. Good times. Great show. Woot.

ps Society of the Spectacle is hard to miss if you’re remotely interested in shit. :)

Public Practice are really good. Are they a current band? I sense a little Waitresses/Pulsallama ness about them.
  11:32pm
morphe:

Doc..Go Doc!!!! Did you know Debord committed suicide?? Do not recall the year.
Avatar 11:33pm
javakid:

liked the Public Practice track as well. Discogs has them on a split 12'' with Flasher. Flasher are a Priests side project and I see the similarities across all those bands.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:46pm
efd:

interesting, javakid, I wasn't aware of the Flasher connection. I liked their album from last year a lot.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:47pm
efd:

@Robin, agree with your take on their sound
  11:51pm
steveL:

Dear God! I've nearly missed it all, watching Moonstruck with my wife! To the archives!
Avatar 11:52pm
javakid:

looks like a limited edition flexi with flasher and public practice to support a tour. so that's the connection and a show I would have very much liked to have seen.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:54pm
efd:

ooh yeah, that would have been pretty great!
  11:54pm
darue keller:

doctors of madness are so good, essential for any violin rock comp
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:55pm

Nice show. Thanks efd.
