Otis Fodder:

Tuned in, my soundtrack for the next 2 hours while getting back to work.
Avatar 6:01pm
Don-O:

Hey, Rich Read for some late 70's abuse?!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:01pm
Rich in Washington:

ALways! Do your worst!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:02pm
Rich in Washington:

Get back to work, Otis!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:02pm
Rich in Washington:

Oh man. This is on my 70s playlist for sure!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:03pm
Rich in Washington:

not this remix I mean. New to me. Must snag.
Avatar 6:03pm
Don-O:

Avatar 6:05pm
Don-O:

'Artsy Stuff' is cool!!! I hope my racket doesn't destroy the mood.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:06pm
Rich in Washington:

I've amassed quite a collection of great/bad 70s hits on 7". Not sure why. Maybe I secretly want to torment a roomful of people with them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:07pm
Rich in Washington:

really the low-hanging fruit where bad music crate digging is concerned, but fun nonetheless.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:09pm
Otis Fodder:

Thankfully I can swim, going to back to shore, but it was a fun Yacht Trip. Ha!

But... this does really flash me back to my AM radio in the 70s riding my bike and listening to Starbuck.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:09pm
Rich in Washington:

I fairly recently spent almost an entire day cataloging all my 70s and 60s 7"s on Discogs and it was kind of funny to see how hundreds of records had a really negligible increase on my collection's 'net worth', as most mass marketed 45s are like pennies per pound.
Avatar 6:09pm
Don-O:

We'er talking about Safety here, folks!!
Avatar 6:10pm
CC:

I love really good crap!!!...hehehe...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:10pm
Rich in Washington:

Oh man, Don-O!
You must be reading my mind! I'm playing a CE3K disco track today too! Not this one, though!
Avatar 6:10pm
Don-O:

Guess 12 inchers are more "interesting" than the 7 inchers.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:10pm
Otis Fodder:

Starbuck is really good crap for sure!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:10pm
Rich in Washington:

Hiya, CC! Don-O has the best crap!
Avatar 6:11pm
grantbob:

I had the Archer "Road Patrol" radio with horn... the oval one.
Avatar 6:12pm
CC:

High Rich..!.. I'm going to keep listening
Avatar 6:13pm
Mr Fab:

Did Bill Murrays' longe singer character sing "Close...En...coun...ters...theme," or was that just me
Avatar 6:14pm
CC:

I can't help but wondering how many of you out there might have implants?!?...hehehe...:)0(:
Avatar 6:14pm
Mr Fab:

Hey, my "Disco Sickness" comp. Taken off thrift-store vinyl.
Avatar 6:14pm
Don-O:

I think the former Beware Of The Blog has two bad disco compilations. Mt. Fab posted a couple more on HIS former blog as well. I see a Bad Disco Weekend in the future!
Avatar 6:15pm
Mr Fab:

only breast ones, CC
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:15pm
Rich in Washington:

My wife refuses to look me over for implants, so who knows?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:15pm
Hopey Sockmonkey:

Ohhh, there's nothing quite like bad disco.
Avatar 6:15pm
grantbob:

Trying to imagine "Good Disco Weekend"
Avatar 6:15pm
Don-O:

Mr. Fab: Nope, that was indeed Bill the Lounge Singer.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:16pm
Rich in Washington:

grantbob!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:16pm
Rich in Washington:

That reminds me, I need to see Avenging Disco Godfather again. Rudy Ray Moore's finest moment.
Avatar 6:18pm
CC:

I think disco must have started with Don't Rock the Boat..!..baby!!!...
Avatar 6:19pm
Don-O:

CC: For this show, Rock The Boat would be too normal.
Avatar 6:20pm
CC:

Hahaha!!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:21pm
Rich in Washington:

This is so weird that you're playing CE3K stuff! Maybe we were talking about it on one of the shows?
Avatar 6:22pm
CC:

I would have been 25 to 30
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:22pm
Otis Fodder:

Loved all the disco Close Encounters!
Avatar 6:23pm
Don-O:

Rich: doing a Star Wars Theme marathon would have been too easy. Plus, I never got underwater with SW as a kid.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:24pm
Rich in Washington:

There must be a lot of it. Luckily, none of this is what I am playing later. Probably helps that Close Encounters came out during the height of Disco.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:25pm
Rich in Washington:

one of my KBOO DJ pals does a huge Star Wars throwdown around every May 4th. It's crazy. So much old and newer remix stuff related to Star Wars.
Avatar 6:26pm
Don-O:

Close Enounters got in in the right time as Saturday Night Fever came in and exploded in the summer of 77 and Close Encounters came out by December of that year. Well, John Williams never did a "dance" version of one of his themes ever again.
Avatar 6:27pm
CC:

Kewl!!!...we need a good Man From U.N.C.L.E... cut like that!!...
Avatar 6:28pm
Mr Fab:

not a disco "Man From U.N.C.L.E."..? Did disco sink it's hooks into everything?
Avatar 6:31pm
Don-O:

The disco wreckage was everywhere by 1981......and then came MTV and malls.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:31pm
Hopey Sockmonkey:

Are the Tubes crap? Well... their later 80s stuff was (IMO).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:32pm
Rich in Washington:

They were a really unique 70s rock phenomenon. Kind of alongside 70s Zappa, Sparks, etc.
Avatar 6:33pm
Don-O:

I advert my eyes during that Tubes period.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:33pm
Rich in Washington:

but I know what you mean, Hopey. I think the pressures to break 'big' in the New Wave market sort of got to them.
Avatar 6:33pm
Mr Fab:

Hopey, i interpret Don-O's use of 'crap' to also mean just 'stuff.'
Avatar 6:34pm
Don-O:

.....and now we're talking ABOUT crap....top 40 radio!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:34pm
Rich in Washington:

Didn't George Carlin have this bit about your 'stuff' and other people's 'crap'?
Avatar 6:35pm
Don-O:

THERE'S a crap connection!!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:36pm
Hopey Sockmonkey:

I used to love this Carlin bit when I was a kid.
Avatar 6:37pm
Don-O:

Class Clown still kills me!!!
Avatar 6:41pm
Mr Fab:

Kraftwerk recorded versions of this song in like 6 dif languages.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:42pm
Rich in Washington:

There really was a calculator in this song. It's an actual model. Someone recently posted an article about it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:44pm
Rich in Washington:

I love Computer World.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:48pm
Rich in Washington:

That Duke set is amazing.
Avatar 6:50pm
Don-O:

A great theme from a wonderfully crappy movie!!! God Bless Steven Speilberg and his older brother, Little Johnny!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:51pm
Rich in Washington:

I don't think I've ever sat through 1941.
Avatar 6:51pm
geezerette:

I won't stand for it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:52pm
Rich in Washington:

Hiya geezerette!
Avatar 6:52pm
Don-O:

Did somebody JUST referenced a Stevie Wonder song here?!?!?!
Avatar 6:53pm
Don-O:

Oh, Hey, Geez!
Avatar 6:54pm
Mr Fab:

I was thinking this was the Faber College march from the Animal House soundtrack. Hey, at least I got Belushi right. has ANYONE seen all of "1941"?
Avatar 6:54pm
geezerette:

Oh no! Don-O! :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:54pm
Rich in Washington:

We're really getting a look at the inside of your brain today, Don-O!
Avatar 6:54pm
Don-O:

WARNING: this episode will go out with a large piece of major crap. Just warnin' ya!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:55pm
Rich in Washington:

I had this book/record. What happened to it? Wouldn't be surprised if it's still tucked away somewhere in my parent's attic.
Avatar 6:55pm
Mr Fab:

Weird bit of trivia I just learned: Mr Hands from Mr Bill was Ellen Degeneres' brother.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:55pm
Rich in Washington:

Major crap! Yay!
Avatar 6:55pm
Don-O:

Don't forget that both of those films had John Landis cameos!
Avatar 6:56pm
geezerette:

Howdy,Rich! I remember all the same crap!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:56pm
Rich in Washington:

Oh weird. I guess Walter Williams had success as a commercial filmmaker and he uses Mr. Bill to raise money for charities. Oh man, I sound like a bot!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:57pm
Rich in Washington:

There wasn't. There wasn't any treasure down there. Poor Mr. Bill.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:57pm
Rich in Washington:

God. I remember this word for word.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:57pm

but...it's only June?
Avatar 6:59pm
Don-O:

I suspect the shortness of time here will same you all. See ya at Rich's show!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:59pm
Rich in Washington:

You are cruel, Don-O! Cruel but fair.
Avatar 6:59pm
Mr Fab:

Much thanks, Don-O! For the most part.
Avatar 6:59pm

The keyboard stylings of Linda McCartney!!!!
Avatar 6:59pm
