Oddly, they seemed to take a lot more scrutiny for just for being as popular as they were. I never heard as much heat directed at say, Eater, whose Get Raped was at least as problematic.

I started doing College Radio when I was a Sophomore in High School. One of my fave delights back in 1981 was The Stranglers "Vietnamerica." Something about the open spaces - and the keyboards. Stellar.
